Un-Nooh takes Trump down to reach third ranking final
Thepchaiya Un-Nooh prevailed over Judd Trump 6-4 to stun the world no.1 and move on to his third ranking final against Ronnie O’Sullivan.
It was a chaotic match from the beginning as Trump stole the opening frame with a heap of snookers to break the Thai’s concentration.
Un-Nooh would chase Trump’s lead in the second frame to come level, and the third frame went Trump’s way with a big visit. Un-Nooh stole the fourth frame to revive his composure into the break.
The tide turned after the interval as Trump became the player equalizing, but Un-Nooh produced three stellar centuries of 128, 134, and 134 in frames five, seven, and nine to help him pull ahead to 5-4.
The last frame was tense, and it looked like it would go Trump’s way. But a missed red gave Un-Nooh a chance to creep back in, and he chipped away at the world no. 1 until they were tied 56-56 with the pink and black left.
Trump sunk the pink, but a bold shot from Un-Nooh saw the black drop in and sealed his ticket to tomorrow’s final.
He will face O’Sullivan, who beat Wu Yize 6-5 earlier this morning. Their match starts at 6AM GMT.

O'Sullivan books 66th ranking final with clearance
Ronnie O'Sullivan produced a glorious counter clearance of 89 in the final frame to book his spot in the World Open final in Yushan with an epic 6-5 semi-final win over home hope Wu Yize.
In a match in which he never trailed, the seven-time world champion was suddenly staring at defeat when world No. 11 Wu led 43-0 in the decider only for O'Sullivan to pick out a stunning do-or-die red to the yellow bag before clearing the table for victory.
It was probably a huge relief for the snooker GOAT - fresh from Friday's historic 153, the highest break in the sport's history - after a missed black off the spot in the 10th frame on the cusp of victory leading 44-0 enabled his opponent to mop up with a clinical 77 of his own.
O'Sullivan had largely dominated the early part of the match with runs of 86 and 78, helping him to establish a 3-1 lead after Wu had compiled 77 in the third.
With the 41-time ranking event winner slightly going off the boil, Wu restored parity at 3-3 with O'Sullivan missing an easy frame-ball pink to lead 4-2.
The next three frames were shared with O'Sullivan making 97 for a 4-3 lead and 118 to move 5-4 clear with his opponent keeping in touch with a stirring 86 in the eighth before the dramatic conclusion to a fascinating contest.
O'Sullivan will face world No. 1 Judd Trump or Thepchaiya Un-Nooh on Sunday as he chases his first ranking title since the World Grand Prix in January 2024, when he defeated Trump 10-7.
