Reigning champions Mark Selby heads to Llandudno as the No.1 seed among the 64 players involved, with runner-up Stephen Maguire and 2019 champion Neil Robertson on the same side of the draw. Zhao Xintong will hope to be the first Chinese winner since 2012.

Some of snooker’s biggest names spawn into Llandudno as 64 players attempt to go all the way and take home the £100,000 winner’s prize from the 2026 Welsh Open.
The competition will start with matches of best-of-seven frames all the way through until the quarter-finals, which will be best-of-nine frames.
The semi-finals will be best-of-11 frames, before the final, which will be the best-of-17 frames, played over two sessions.

Who is playing at the Welsh Open?

There will be 64 players competing at the 2026 Welsh Open, which is now the third-longest-running ranking event after the World Snooker Championship and the UK Championship, having taken place since 1992.
No.1 seed Mark Selby returns to defend his title, with runner-up and 2013 winner Stephen Maguire a potential last-16 opponent for 'The Jester from Leicester'.
Two-time champion Neil Robertson is also on Selby’s side of the draw.
On the other side, reigning world champion Zhao Xintong will look to become the first Chinese winner since 2012.
Zhao will need to be at his best, though, as he has Kyren Wilson, John Higgins and Shaun Murphy on his side of the draw.
