SHEER DELIGHT FOR WILSON IN SHANGHAI
Kyren Wilson claimed his second
Shanghai Masters title following an 11-9 victory over Ali Carter in a thrilling final on Sunday.

Wilson lost the opening frame, but hit breaks of 129 and 96 to edge his nose in front at 2-1.
Carter - only appearing as a late replacement for Mark Allen - regained the initiative with runs of 86 and 65, but contributions of 80 and 78 helped the world No. 2 move 5-3 to the good. Nevertheless, 'the Captain' dug deep with runs of 68 and 66 to level things up at 5-5 at the conclusion of the afternoon session.
The first four frames of the evening were also shared; Wilson's 105 cancelled out by Carter's 76.
Wilson restored a two-frame buffer with breaks of 66 and 122, but Carter hit back again with a magnificent 140 total clearance and a further contribution of 63 for 9-9.
Wilson moved back in front with an 86 clearance, though Carter threatened to force a decider when he led 56-25 in frame 20. However, Wilson floated in a stunning long final red and punched the air as he cleared to snatch victory on the black.

AND THE WINNER
It has been another memorable week in Shanghai for Wilson.
'The Warrior' receives the trophy from WPBSA chair Jason Ferguson, before he and Carter pose for photos with the local dignitaries.
How many trophies will Wilson get his hands on this season? He already has a big one in the bag.
PRESENTATION TIME
The cheque for £105,000 will also be a nice little consolation for Carter, who receives that and his runner-up trophy as the presentation gets under way.
SPARE A THOUGHT
It ultimately ends in disappointment, but Carter can certainly look back on this week with his head held high.
He overturned 5-2 deficits to beat Mark Williams and Xiao Guodong, before recovering from 8-6 down to beat Mark Selby 10-8.
It is all the more impressive considering 'the Captain' was not even meant to be here, having only appeared as a late replacement for Mark Allen.

Fast forward a decade, the Warrior is a world champion and firmly established as one of the best players in the world.
He is also on the cusp of becoming a multiple winner in Shanghai.
