Jimmy 'Whirlwind' White suffered a 4-1 defeat to world No. 42 Jackson Page in the second round of qualifying for the Scottish Open in Sheffield on Wednesday, but there was a win for Scotland's former world champion Graeme Dott, who will be in Edinburgh when the last-64 stage begins at Meadowbank Sports Centre (December 9-15) live on Eurosport and discovery+.

Jimmy White won the first frame but lost the next four to tumble out of the Scottish Open at the second qualifying stage in a 4-1 loss to Jackson Page in Sheffield on Wednesday afternoon.
The former UK and Masters champion, who opened with a 4-1 win over Hatem Yassen on Tuesday, was looking to emulate his 4-3 victory over Page at the same stage of the Northern Ireland Open qualifiers in September, but could not build on a promising start at Ponds Forge.
Page advances to a last-64 meeting with Robert Milkins at Meadowbank Sports Centre in Edinburgh when the final stage of the Home Nations ranking event begins on December 9 and runs until December 15.
Meanwhile, there was disappointment for Elliot Slessor, who lost 4-1 to Farakh Ajaib a week after his run to the semi-finals of the Northern Ireland Open.
But Scotland's 2006 world champion Graeme Dott set up a meeting with Ali Carter in his tournament opener in Edinburgh after completing a 4-2 win against Jiang Jun.
Elsewhere, former world finalist Matthew Stevens lost 4-1 to Ma Hailong, who compiled 89, 66 and 79 to secure an encounter with Si Jiahui in Edinburgh.
Gary Wilson is set to chase a third straight victory in the tournament live on Eurosport and discovery+.
