Ronnie O'Sullivan's song picks on Desert Island Discs see one glaring omission from snooker GOAT's all-time favourites

Snooker GOAT Ronnie O'Sullivan has been busy choosing the tracks of his years on an extended edition of BBC's Desert Island Discs with an eclectic mix of tunes seeing Eminem, Wham and Carly Simon included in the Rocket's wish list. O'Sullivan looks back on his 32-year career with some pride despite battling depression, and feels he is a more complete player than in his formative years.

Ronnie O'Sullivan's favourite song choices on Desert Island Discs include his walk-on music of choice, Drops of Jupiter by Train, but omits the classic number his fans voted for.
The seven-time snooker world champion made a wide and varied choice of tunes on the celebrated and long-running BBC radio programme ranging from Lose Yourself by Eminem to Careless Whisper by Wham.
But there is no spot on the final list for classic Oasis tune Rock 'n' Roll Star which unanimously topped a poll by Eurosport viewers in 2017 as their favourite crowd-pleaser for the snooker GOAT.
It was preferred to Queen's Another One Bites the Dust with O'Sullivan adopting the number for a while before returning to the Train tune in recent years.
O'Sullivan is taking a break from competitive action after losing 4-2 to talented Chinese player He Guoqiang in the last 64 of the English Open last month as he prepares to defend his UK title in November.
He feels he is a more complete player than the 17-year-old potting prodigy who became the youngest ranking-event winner of all time when he famously lifted the first of his eight UK titles with a shock 10-6 win over Stephen Hendry in 1993.
"I think I'm a better player than I ever have been because I don't rely on just one thing," said O'Sullivan. "I've got three or four different options of surviving within a game and at any point I can switch, which just took time because I was never really the best at anything.
“I wasn't the best long potter. I wasn't the best safety player. I was always good at making breaks and scoring quickly, which is an amazing asset to have, but without the other stuff, it became a bit one-dimensional.
“Over the years, I've had to learn to improve in a lot of areas and now I can call upon them. But I will always know that in the back of my mind that to get the job done, I need to be firing on all cylinders, which is scoring breaks at a quick, rapid speed.
"Now I've got to the point where I've improved, but it's how long can I keep it going for?
"I've worked so hard to get there and it's like, now I just want to make as much hay as I can and enjoy it because I suffered a lot of it, you know, and I've learned to not suffer, so it's about more pleasure now.”
