WILSON WINS LAST-FRAME THRILLER TO SET UP FINAL AGAINST HIGGINS
Kyren Wilson fought back from the brink to edge out Wu Yize 6-5 in a Masters semi-final classic to set up a final against John Higgins.
In a match that swung back and forth, Wilson and debutant Wu exchanged cagey frames to go into the break 2-2.
However, Wilson looked like he had taken control of the game as he raced through two quick frames, before missing a handful of opportunities in the seventh frame to take a 5-2 lead.
Wu duly punished, and seized momentum back as he strung together two big breaks, before holding his nerve in the ninth frame, despite late pressure from Wilson, to move one frame away from his first Triple Crown final.
It looked like Wu was going to take the opportunity, but missed a simple red when racing away with a break, allowing Wilson to return to the table.
Wilson showed his experience to negotiate a tricky break of 46 to level the match and send it to a decider.
After several safety shots, Wu finally faltered in the decider, leaving Wilson with a chance to get a break going and The Warrior didn't look back, finishing off the match with a 116 break - the highest of the match.
Wilson will face two-time champion Higgins in the final, looking to win the Masters for the first time, having lost in last year's final to Shaun Murphy.
