THAT'S US DONE FOR TODAY

Thanks for your company; we'll be back tomorrow at 6.25am GMT.

AROUND THE TABLES

Ding Junhui 6-0 Hossein Vafaei
Barry Hawkins 6-1 Neil Robertson
Jiang Jun 5-4 Yuan Sijun
Xu Si 6-2 Ryan Day
Thepchaiya Un-Nooh 1-6 Mark Williams
Xiao Guodong 5-2 Mark Allen
Zhang Anda 1-6 Lyu Haotian

KYREN WILSON BEATS WU YIZE 6-4!

Indeed he does not lose concentration closing out. As we suspected, every time it got tight he found what he needed and, in search of a third ranking title of the season, he will face Bazza Hawkins next. As for Wu, the raw materials are all there – he just needs better shot-selection and consistency, which will come with time.

WILSON 5-4 YIZE (69-0)

Wu's escape leaves a potential pot to the green and Kyren stays down on it - he's not sure it's going in. And when it hits the far jaw it looks like it isn't, but the pockets are receptive and accept the ball; a few shots later, this is almost over, and a pink means Wu needs a snooker – should he get back to the table immediately.

WILSON 5-4 YIZE (54-0)

Kyren removes balls, and though he'll need to ruffle the pack, this is now his frame to lose. The shot doesn't work that well, though, meaning a taxing red from right side to the yellow bag; it scuds home, and rather than ride his luck he accepts it, nuzzling up to the yellow lest he miss the pot and leave a chance.

WILSON 5-4 YIZE (15-0)

Kyren muscles down a starter and I bet he doesn't lose concentration during this run.

AROUND THE TABLES

Ding Junhui 6-0 Hossein Vafaei
Barry Hawkins 6-1 Neil Robertson
Jiang Jun 4-4 Yuan Sijun
Xu Si 6-2 Ryan Day
Thepchaiya Un-Nooh 1-6 Mark Williams
Xiao Guodong 4-2 Mark Allen
Zhang Anda 1-6 Lyu Haotian

WILSON 5-4 YIZE

Nervelessly, Wu clears the table. This has been and still is a terrific match.

WILSON 5-3 YIZE (44-56)

Wu lamps down a starter, and though the final red, still just above black cush, won't be easy, you expect him to sink it ... and he does. All the colours are on their spots save the blue.

WILSON 5-3 YIZE (44-30)

Methodically and precisely, Kyren removes balls ... but of course, as I type, he out of nowhere misses a run-through red to left corner! Was he taking the match for granted? It won't be easy for Wu to steal from here given three reds just above black cush, but he's still in the match and for now, that'll do.

WILSON 5-3 YIZE (1-29)

Nort enough. Forced to stop while the crowd settle down, he misses a red to middle ... but Kyren can't punish, hitting the jaws of the green. No matter: Wu can't quite incite an opener to drop down left corner, Kyren slots to the same bag, and this is his first chance to finish the match.

WILSON 5-3 YIZE (0-1)

Have a look! Daunted by the prospect of imminent defeat, Wu absolutely creams starter diagonally to the yellow bag. What can he make of it?

AROUND THE TABLES

Ding Junhui 6-0 Hossein Vafaei
Barry Hawkins 4-1 Neil Robertson
Jiang Jun 3-4 Yuan Sijun
Xu Si 6-2 Ryan Day
Thepchaiya Un-Nooh 1-6 Mark Williams
Xiao Guodong 3-2 Mark Allen
Zhang Anda 1-5 Lyu Haotian

WILSON 5-3 YIZE

A fine clearance from Kyren, his third ton of the match, and Wu needs three on the spin.

WILSON 4-3 YIZE (65-25)

Off the blue, Kyren brings a red off the side, but is now hampered by it on the other remaining one, also frame-ball; he glides it across the table at in. He's going two up with three to play.

WILSON 4-3 YIZE (23-25)

I keep saying this but it keeps being true: Wu doesn't quite have the consistency to beat Kyren in this form, I don't think.

WILSON 4-3 YIZE (1-25)

Wu runs out of postion so deploys the spider to poke into the black; can Kyren cut obliquely to middle? He cannot, but a missed pot offers him another opportunity, claret all over the show.

WILSON 4-3 YIZE (0-24)

Elsewhere, Zhang Anda, the champ, is in trouble, while Xu Si has just made a maxi. But back to our match, Wu is cueing nicely and there are plenty of loose reds knocking about, he just has to pick the best route through them.

WILSON 4-3 YIZE (0-8)

Now then! Kyren plays safe but catches the blue, so Wu bins a starter and gets to work.

AROUND THE TABLES

Ding Junhui 6-0 Hossein Vafaei
Barry Hawkins 4-1 Neil Robertson
Jiang Jun 3-3 Yuan Sijun
Xu Si 4-2 Ryan Day
Thepchaiya Un-Nooh 1-5 Mark Williams
Xiao Guodong 3-2 Mark Allen
Zhang Anda 1-4 Lyu Haotian

WILSON 4-3 YIZE

Wu just won't go away and like Pang earlier, he's not at all fazed by pressure.

WILSON 4-2 YIZE (57-69)

He plays it nicely, so it's pink down the side for the steal...

WILSON 4-2 YIZE (57-64)

He'll need the pink. And here he us, on the blue looking to screw back and drop in behind it...

WILSON 4-2 YIZE (57-34)

This is nice from Wu, and if he takes blacks with the last three reds, he won't need the pink that's on the side rail, near right corner.

WILSON 4-2 YIZE (57-6)

Kyren picks the wrong red – one that forces him down to the blue, not one that allows him to stay on the black. And to compound matters, he then goes in-off the pink, the frame moving from a potential maxi-vehicle to one he might now lose! Wu gets himself away...!

WILSON 4-2 YIZE (24-0)

A poor safety offers Wu one to left corner but he leaves it in the jaws and Kyren tucks it away. A black follows, then another red-black, and Kyren won't have failed to notice that there are further opportunities to add points in eights.

AROUND THE TABLES

Ding Junhui 5-0 Hossein Vafaei
Barry Hawkins 3-1 Neil Robertson
Jiang Jun 3-2 Yuan Sijun
Xu Si 3-2 Ryan Day
Thepchaiya Un-Nooh 1-5 Mark Williams
Xiao Guodong 3-1 Mark Allen
Zhang Anda 1-4 Lyu Haotian

WILSON 4-2 YIZE

That's the thing isn't it? Kyren has the answer to amost every question the game's asking of him at the moment, and Wu will regret missing the red along the rail but ultimately he's not quite good enough to seriously discomfit the Warrior.

WILSON 3-2 YIZE (49-59)

Kyren cannons it nicely but leaves himself a brutally tight cut to right-middle ... and not only does he send it down but he gets around the back of the pink, the next ball he'll bin. This is going to be 4-2!

WILSON 3-2 YIZE (31-59)

Wu finds himself fractionally above one of the two balls stuck to black cush; can he get to the other without touching it? He has a a think and a peer, decides that he can, then leaves it in the jaws. Chance for Kyren to steal and re-establish his two-frame advantage – but with one red still on the side rail.

WILSON 3-2 YIZE (22-51)

Wu sinks the blue only for it to return to the table and block off his next pot. But wait! Can he sneak around it to cut to left corner? Yes he can! He's such a good potter, and though he'll need to get to at least one cushioned red, there's no reason to think he won't manage it given how he's cueing.

WILSON 3-2 YIZE (22-8)

Fro close to right corner, Wu tries a tight snick, undercuts by plenty ... and pretty much gets away with it. All the more so when Kyren taps the table at himself, frustrated with a poor safety, and suddenly, Wu has a chance to socre heavily – perhapos levelling the match in the process! There are balls on cushions, but also plenty in open play.

WILSON 3-2 YIZE (22-0)

Going into the pack off a pink to middle, Kyren winds up in among them; this looks like end of break. So he tries a double to nothing, misses, and Wu is repreived.

WILSON 3-2 YIZE (15-0)

Oh Wu. Oh mate. Yet again, he hands over a starter thast demands nothing of Kyren, and that's the difference or at least a difference: against the world champ you've gotta earn your chances, most of the time.

AROUND THE TABLES

Ding Junhui 4-0 Hossein Vafaei
Barry Hawkins 3-0 Neil Robertson
Jiang Jun 2-2 Yuan Sijun
Xu Si 3-1 Ryan Day
Thepchaiya Un-Nooh 1-3 Mark Williams
Xiao Guodong 3-1 Mark Allen
Zhang Anda 1-3 Lyu Haotian

WILSON 3-2 YIZE

Do we got a ball-game? A 101 from Wu says aye.

WILSON 3-1 YIZE (0-75)

Wu has dominated this frame and won't slink away. I still think Kyren will do whatever is demanded of him to win, but this is a really fun match of good standard.

Wilson makes 'brilliant' century to take lead against Wu

Video credit: TNT Sports

WILSON 3-1 YIZE (0-59)

A loose positional shot means a red needing taking from right side to left corner. Wu being Wu, he takes it on without demur and finds the heart of the pocket. The frame is nearly his.

WILSON 3-1 YIZE (0-28)

Wu runs out of position so plays safe, then Kyren leaves him one to right-middle which he sorts easily enough. The way the balls are, he'll expect to make something definitive.

WILSON 3-1 YIZE (0-8)

Wu must surely win this frame and, offered a longun to right corner, he strokes it home superbly. This is a really important visit.

WE GO AGAIN

AROUND THE TABLES

Ding Junhui 3-0 Hossein Vafaei
Barry Hawkins 2-0 Neil Robertson
Jiang Jun 2-1 Yuan Sijun
Xu Si 2-1 Ryan Day
Thepchaiya Un-Nooh 1-2 Mark Williams
Xiao Guodong 3-0 Mark Allen
Zhang Anda 0-3 Lyu Haotian

WILSON 3-1 YIZE

Yup, Kyren lays down a 121 and the world champ is the world champ. We'll be back in 15.

WILSON 2-1 YIZE (59-0)

Kyren is so confident now I can almost taste it. I can't see how Wu seriously challenges him here, and it looks like a second ton on the spin is imminent.

WILSON 2-1 YIZE (19-0)

I hate to say it, but Wu's safety just isn't good enough to allow him to hang with Kyren. He carelessly leaves a gentle cut to the yellow which Kyren nuzzles down nicely and this reeks of 3-1.

AROUND THE TABLES

Ding Junhui 2-0 Hossein Vafaei
Barry Hawkins 2-0 Neil Robertson
Jiang Jun 2-1 Yuan Sijun
Xu Si 1-1 Ryan Day
Thepchaiya Un-Nooh 1-2 Mark Williams
Xiao Guodong 3-0 Mark Allen
Zhang Anda 0-3 Lyu Haotian

WILSON 2-1 YIZE

This time, Kyren does make a ton. He's in nick!

WILSON 1-1 YIZE (61-0)

As noted below, Kyren won the NI Open the week before last and he's playing just as well here; Wu has a puncher's chance as per the previous frame but it's hard to see him playing well enough for long enough to beat the world champ in this form and mood.

WILSON 1-1 YIZE (29-0)

Wu misses to left corner and Kyren tidies up, redeeming his previous error with another red cut to left-middle. The balls are open nicely now, and there's every chance he makes a frame-winning contribution from here.

WILSON 1-1 YIZE (14-0)

Kyren clearly has the safety edge and an error fro Wu allows him a starter. But he soon runs out of position and has to try a tightun to left-middle; he's not close.

AROUND THE TABLES

Ding Junhui 1-0 Hossein Vafaei
Barry Hawkins 1-0 Neil Robertson
Jiang Jun 1-1 Yuan Sijun
Xu Si 0-1 Ryan Day
Thepchaiya Un-Nooh 1-1 Mark Williams
Xiao Guodong 2-0 Mark Allen
Zhang Anda 0-2 Lyu Haotian

WILSON 1-1 YIZE

Just when Wu looked in trouble, Kyren faltered, and the way the kid dealth with the situation from there was very impressive. As we know from his previous work, he's a player.

WILSON 1-0 YIZE (32-68)

Wu runs out of position moving from yellow to green so plays safe, and Kyrizzle returns to the table needing snookers three. Good luck with that, old mate.

WILSON 1-0 YIZE (32-45)

Wu forges in front and will feel better for this – he'd been pretty much banned from the table until this point. Kyren will be raging about that missed yellow.

WILSON 1-0 YIZE (32-14)

Nice from Wu, a starter splattered to left corner, and there's no reason at all he shouldn't level the match from here ... but if he can't, he'll fear the worst.

WILSON 1-0 YIZE (32-0)

Kyren slots to right corner and promotes a few more balls, but his position on the yellow isn't great. He plays it dead slow and with the extension, but with insufficient pop, the consolation that the bag is now covered, so won't accept the red in baulk.

WILSON 1-0 YIZE (8-0)

Kyren sends a lovely red from left side to the green bag, adds a black to right-centre, and he's away again. All the signs say that this will be a difficult night for Wu.

AROUND THE TABLES

Ding Junhui 0-0 Hossein Vafaei
Barry Hawkins 0-0 Neil Robertson
Jiang Jun 1-0 Yuan Sijun
Xu Si v Ryan Day
Thepchaiya Un-Nooh 0-1 Mark Williams
Xiao Guodong 2-0 Mark Allen
Zhang Anda 0-1 Lyu Haotian

WILSON 1-0 YIZE

Like Neil Robertson, Kyren absolutely adores potting balls, but he doesn't actually clear up, jawsing the brown. He'll cope.

WILSON 0-0 YIZE (77-0)

The early running suggests Wu is in trouble here. Another loose shot, an attempted pot that clips a second red, leaves plenty, and Kyren will clinch the frame from here. I'm not sure Wu's game is tight enough to bother him given the form he's in.

WILSON 0-0 YIZE (47-0)

Running slightly out of position, Kyren takes on a plant with space between the two balls, hitting the jaws of left corner but getting the white safe.

WILSON 0-0 YIZE (26-0)

Oooh, Kyren misses with the rest, not something you see often. No matter: at the end of a safety bout he sends a red along black cush and into the bag, adds the brown, and Philip Studd notes that according to Judd, his demeanour at the table has changed since becoming world champ – something he said before taking a hiding off him in the NI Open final the other week.

WILSON 0-0 YIZE (16-0)

Kyrizzle runs out of position so plays safe, but leaves one to left corner and Wu is the kind of player who doesn't need asking twice, going at it hard ... and hitting the jaws, leaving nowt, achieving the same outcome when he goes again next go.

WILSON 0-0 YIZE (11-0)

Kyren is absolutely loving being world champ – he was so sure he'd get there and now he has, he's enjoying it just as he knew he would. And he's in first, slotting a fine starter off the break, but knows that Wu, just 21, is talented enough to be a serious danger tonight.

PANG JUNXU BEATS RONNIE O'SULLIVAN 6-4!

A tremendous performance from Pang and one he'll treasure for the rest of his life: his first ranking-event win over the greatest. Ronnie has played alright today, but a missed shot here and some ill luck there have made the difference. Pang meets Jackson Page next and ends with another ton, this time a run of 123; well played, old mate, well played.

O'SULLIVAN 4-5 JUNXU (0-86)

Pang makes the match safe. He's been almost perfect these last two frames, growing as the match intensified.

O'SULLIVAN 4-5 JUNXU (0-61)

But there's the first error, an overhit black meaning a red that's harder than it needed to be; he brandishes the rest and strokes into left corner, staying on the black. Not for long, though – he soon comes down for brown, ands this is very calm, composed, skilful behaviour.

O'SULLIVAN 4-5 JUNXU (0-40)

Pang's played pretty much the same way all the way through the match - there've been no signs of nerves or pressure. He's played beautifully these last two frames and is red-blacking his way to victory.

'Stunning clearance!' - O'Sullivan shows class to win tight frame

Video credit: TNT Sports

O'SULLIVAN 4-5 JUNXU (0-16)

Ronnie misses a starter but Pang does not, and he's on the black. The reds are pretty nicely spread, for a lead at least, but he'll be seeking to fashion this into a chance to secure f&m. With another potential maxi not out of the question...

Around the tables

Ali Carter 4-6 Jackson Page
Jack Lisowski 3-4 Si Jiahui
Noppon Saengkham 2-5 Mark Selby
Matthew Stevens 1-6 John Higgins
Judd Trump 4-4 Joe O'Connnor
Chris Wakelin 5-3 Shaun Murphy
Robbie Williams 4-4 Gary Wilson

O'SULLIVAN 4-5 JUNXU

Nevertheless Pang is one away!

O'SULLIVAN 4-4 JUNXU (0-120)

Pang doesn't quite come far enough off the black so will need to cut it back to right corner and take the white around tha table. Here it comes ... and he nails the pot but catches the yellow! Ach, it's now a nasty black, needing cutting thinly to right corner ... and it's there! But can he knock the yellow, now on the the side rail, to left corner? Not quite, and it won't quite drop into right! What a shame.

O'SULLIVAN 4-4 JUNXU (0-105)

There's a real calmness about Pang and he plays a really good black that moves him on to the third-from-last red, then coaxed into right corner. The remaining two are close to the pink but the one below it goes to left and in the process will create more space to get at the last one. COME ON PANG!

O'SULLIVAN 4-4 JUNXU (0-73)

A maxi against the greatest would be a decent pose, and there are no balls on cushions; it's simply a matter of picking the correct route through the remaining reds. It's one of those that looked on right from the start, and though a nudge or two might be required – there are reds below the pink that are close by – he secures the frame and this is on!

O'SULLIVAN 4-4 JUNXU (0-49)

Eesh, a black wriggles down, just, and he makes sure to stay on it following the next red. He wants this and rightly so; come on, Pang lad!

O'SULLIVAN 4-4 JUNXU (0-17)

Pang nails a red to right corner, adds a black then another red-black, and this is, shall we say, an interesting situation – all the more so when he cunningly breaks the pack. The balls are set...

Around the tables

Ali Carter 4-5 Jackson Page
Jack Lisowski 3-3 Si Jiahui
Noppon Saengkham 2-4 Mark Selby
Matthew Stevens 1-6 John Higgins
Judd Trump 4-4 Joe O'Connnor
Chris Wakelin 4-3 Shaun Murphy
Robbie Williams 4-3 Gary Wilson

O'SULLIVAN 4-4 JUNXU

Ronnie dispatches both. It was only brown to black, but that was a brilliant clearance.

O'SULLIVAN 3-4 JUNXU (54-50)

Or not! Pang underhits his pot on the green, leaves a mid-dostance brown diagonally to right corner ... and Ronnie strokes it home! What a shot that is, difficult at the best of times but in the circumstances, an absolute brute. Ronnie needs all the balls for 4-4 and gets behind the pink, on the baulk rail, to slot it home and move up for the black. Pressure...

O'SULLIVAN 3-4 JUNXU (45-50)

Now then! Pang clips a nice starter to left corner, removes balls, then drifts off the black to behind the final red, on the side rail, and caresses it into right corner! He'll need to blue to secure the frame, and there's no reason to think he won't! What a steal this is going to be!

O'SULLIVAN 3-4 JUNXU (45-8)

Not yet. Forced to bridge over a red, potting the black leaves him stuck to a different red – he gets too deeply into it – meaning end of break.

O'SULLIVAN 3-4 JUNXU (30-8)

Perhaps trying to force it, Pang takes on a pink to the yellow, misses, and that offers Ronnie the chance to extend his lead, perhaps levelling the match in the process.

O'SULLIVAN 3-4 JUNXU (21-8)

Oh this game! Ronie drills a black and develops two reds on the rail ... lovely shot ... except one of them dribbles into left corner! Massive moment in the match, massive chance for Pang!

O'SULLIVAN 3-4 JUNXU (13-0)

After a tactical start to the frame, Ronnie strokes a glorious starter to the corner and gets to work.

Around the tables

Ali Carter 4-4 Jackson Page
Jack Lisowski 3-2 Si Jiahui
Noppon Saengkham 2-3 Mark Selby
Matthew Stevens 1-5 John Higgins
Judd Trump 2-4 Joe O'Connnor
Chris Wakelin 3-2 Shaun Murphy
Robbie Williams 4-1 Gary Wilson

O'SULLIVAN 3-4 JUNXU

Yup, Ronnie closes to within one, and this is boiling up into a proper finish.

O'SULLIVAN 2-4 JUNXU (51-15)

Pang gets away to right corner and brings some reds into play, but missing a mid-distance brown to the yellow bag means Ronnie will probably do enough at this next visit to close the gap.

O'SULLIVAN 2-4 JUNXU (37-0)

Ronnie removes reds, mainly using the pink, but a kick then takes him out of position and forces him to take on a blue to the yellow; he can't get it down, but the remaining reds are safe, so the lead is a handy one because currently, it's not retrievable in one or two visits.

O'SULLIVAN 2-4 JUNXU (5-0)

The black is stuck to the middle of the top cushion, a red either side, which is to say we could be here a while. So in the meantime, let's reflect on how well Pang took that chance in the last frame – don't expect him to choke if he gets in sight of the winning line. Anyroad, Ronnie sticks a red into the yellow bag, but can't get on a high-value colour off his second, so it's in behind the green; pang's escape is poor and leaves a simple starter.

Around the tables

Ali Carter 2-4 Jackson Page

Noppon Saengkham 2-2 Mark Selby
Matthew Stevens 0-5 John Higgins
Judd Trump 2-4 Joe O'Connnor
Chris Wakelin 2-2 Shaun Murphy
Robbie Williams 3-1 Gary Wilson

O'SULLIVAN 2-4 JUNXU

A clearance of 73 and Pang extends his lead – just, he nearly misses the pink. Now then!

O'SULLIVAN 2-3 JUNXU (59-41)

Pang pots the balls Ronnie kindly arranged for him. This is getting interesting...

O'SULLIVAN 2-3 JUNXU (59-0)

The speed of him is frankly absurd. He'll need to break the pack, and how that goes will determine if the frame is secured at this visit. On the one hand, there's no one better at doing it, but on the other it didn't work out last time he tried. But as I type, he dips in off the black, and this'll be 3-3 ...or not! Next red goes long to the yellow ... and stays over the bag! Chance for Pang to counter!

O'SULLIVAN 2-3 JUNXU (21-0)

Ronnie nails a starter diagonally into left corner and gets to work.

Around the tables

Ali Carter 1-3 Jackson Page
Jack Lisowski 3-1 Si Jiahui
Noppon Saengkham 2-2 Mark Selby
Matthew Stevens 0-4 John Higgins
Judd Trump 2-2 Joe O'Connnor
Chris Wakelin 2-2 Shaun Murphy
Robbie Williams 3-1 Gary Wilson

O'SULLIVAN 2-3 JUNXU

Pang's 85 is the highest break of the match and he goes in front for a third time.

O'SULLIVAN 2-2 JUNXU (2-78)

He does enough. This is a really good contest.

O'SULLIVAN 2-2 JUNXU (2-56)

Pang opens the remaining reds and it'd be a surprise if he failed to do enough from here.

O'SULLIVAN 2-2 JUNXU (2-41)

Pang accumulates, and there are enough loose balls for him to secure the frame without worrying about the harder ones.

O'SULLIVAN 2-2 JUNXU (2-0)

Pang takes on a plant but with safety in mind, such that when it goes down he's probably regretful didn't commit. The white is now pinned to the balk rail, so he can only play safe off the green, then when he takes on another pot, thinking he'll leave everything safe if he misses, he instead offers a delicate cut-back ... which Ronnie leaves on the lip of right corner! Chance for Pang!

Noppon Saengkham 2-1 Mark Selby
Matthew Stevens 0-3 John Higgins
Judd Trump 2-2 Joe O'Connnor

Robbie Williams 1-1 Gary Wilson

O'SULLIVAN 2-2 JUNXU

This is shaping up. See you in 15!

O'SULLIVAN 1-2 JUNXU (83-4)

This has been a really good run because the table wasn't all that inviting. But it's been expertly conquered, and we'll go into the break all square.

O'SULLIVAN 1-2 JUNXU (58-4)

Good work from Ronnie, but a thin black will test him ... and he caresses it into left corner, position on the next ball perfect. This is going to be 2-2, a phone going doing nothing to break cocentration.

O'SULLIVAN 1-2 JUNXU (27-4)

Ronnie sinks another red but can't follow it, then delivers a beauty diagonally into left corner, and this time he's on the blue. He quickly moves up for the black and, though the balls aren't easy, the test is more picking the route through them rather than potting difficult balls, and at that, there's no one better.

O'SULLIVAN 1-2 JUNXU (6-4)

Ronnie nails a starter but soon finds himself stuck to a stray red. So he plays safe then, next go, goes in-off so we're back playing safety.

Around the tables

Ali Carter 1-1 Jackson Page
Jack Lisowski 2-1 Si Jiahui
Noppon Saengkham 2-0 Mark Selby
Matthew Stevens 0-2 John Higgins
Judd Trump 2-1 Joe O'Connnor
Chris Wakelin 2-1 Shaun Murphy
Robbie Williams 0-1 Gary Wilson

O'SULLIVAN 1-2 JUNXU

Ronnie is the better player, but one miss cost him and it's Pang who leads once more.

O'SULLIVAN 1-1 JUNXU (12-78)

Pang secures the frame.

O'SULLIVAN 1-1 JUNXU (12-46)

Ronnie's safety is too good for Pang, who struggles to stay afloat, but when a chance arises, the Rocket can't drain a nasty pot parallel to black cush. So Pang tidies up and might just be able to clinch the frame here – but he'll know he's been a little fortunate.

O'SULLIVAN 1-1 JUNXU (11-38)

A lovely cannon off the black does the necessary, so all that stands between Pang and the frame now is a decent split. But before he can try, he has to send a red from the right side into left-centre ... and he overcuts it by a way. I'm not sure he'll be allowed to get away with that, but when Ronnie breaks the pack from below, he winds up stuck in the middle. Pang escapes.

O'SULLIVAN 1-1 JUNXU (0-22)

Pang makes light of being close to the side, sparking a diagonal starter down the throat of the left corner and adding a blue. If he can remove a red that's just under the black, that blackball pass to both bags, but for now it's to the left corner only.

Around the tables

Ali Carter 0-1 Jackson Page
Jack Lisowski 1-1 Si Jiahui
Noppon Saengkham 1-0 Mark Selby
Matthew Stevens 0-1 John Higgins
Judd Trump 0-1 Joe O'Connnor
Chris Wakelin 0-1 Shaun Murphy
Robbie Williams 0-1 Gary Wilson

O'SULLIVAN 1-1 JUNXU

Ronnie misses blue to green, but he's potting so fluently at the moment it's hard for the refs to keep up.

O'SULLIVAN 0-1 JUNXU (56-0)

This is a lesson for Pang, not that he needed it, that if he doesn't take care fof every shit, he's going to lose. All that work in winning the first frame, gone in one shot.

O'SULLIVAN 0-1 JUNXU (17-0)

Off the break, Pang catches the blue so Ronnie sorts a mid-distance starter, then quickly plays a couple of difficult shots that open everything. Already, this looks a lot like 1-1.

around the tables

O'SULLIVAN 0-1 JUNXU

This could be a good contest...

O'SULLIVAN 0-0 JUNXU (29-67)

Pang secures the frame, but will know He did likewise yesterday.

O'SULLIVAN 0-0 JUNXU (29-30)

Ronnie slides a nasty black to left corner aware that, should he miss, he's leaving plenty ... and down it goes, right in the heart of the pocket. He's feeling good here, you can see – he played really well yesterday - and if he carries on like this he'll take some beating. But have a look! He misses black to right corner and leaves the lot!

O'SULLIVAN 0-0 JUNXU (6-30)

Overrunning slightly off the black, Pang deploys patience, playing safe rather than forcing it. Ronnie's last two opponents, Mink Nutcharut and He Goquiang, went for pretty much everything rather than wait to lose; this is a different way, but it's the Rocket who wins the safety and there are points there for him.

O'SULLIVAN 0-0 JUNXU (0-22)

Pang starts nicely, nailing a terrific diagonal starter into left corner before quickly scoring. He looks in good touch.
