Judd Trump moved into the third round of the 2025 German Masters with an emphatic 5-0 victory over Joe O'Connor at the Tempodrom in Berlin.
The world No. 1 blasted through the unseeded Englishman, who was riding on the crest of a wave after he stunned 32nd seed Stephen Maguire in the first round.
However, the 29-year-old from Leicester could not keep pace with the top seed, who raced clear to book himself into the last 16, where he will face either Neil Robertson or Hammad Miah.
Trump has won three titles in Berlin, and is aiming for a fourth this year as he searches for his first ranking title of 2025, to follow up his second UK Championship which he lifted at the back end of 2024.
Elsewhere, Kyren Wilson is also through to the third round after he beat Zhou Yuelong 5-3.
Wilson, the second seed in the German capital, twice came from behind to beat his tricky Chinese opponent, who led by two frames in the opening exchanges, before Wilson hauled himself back level.

The Warrior, who has won this title once before in 2019, showed his fighting spirit to set up a third-round encounter with 18th seed Jak Jones, who shocked John Higgins.

The Welshman also came back from two frames down against The Wizard of Wishaw, getting it back to 2-2, before falling behind once more.
However, he roared back to claim a big win and earn himself a high-stakes affair with Wilson, who he will want to exact revenge on after he was beaten by the world No. 2 in the final of the 2024 World Championship.
Elsewhere in the morning session, Zhang Anda beat Robert Milkins comfortably 5-2, with the Chinese player to take on the winner of Luca Brecel and Anthony McGill in the third round.
Barry Hawkins also needed a big final flourish to defeat Ben Woollaston, who whitewashed former finalist David Gilbert in the first round.
Yuan Sijun made it safely through 5-2 against Ross Muir, while in the all-Chinese clash, Si Jiahui was pushed all the way by Xiao Guodong, and he eventually lost out in a marathon 5-4 affair.
