Si Jiahui reached his first ranking final as he defeated Kyren Wilson 6-3 in the German Masters semi-finals at the Tempodrom in Berlin.
Si, the 27th seed, had beaten his compatriot Yuan Sijun 5-3 in the last 16 before dismantling Ryan Day 5-1 in the quarter-finals, and continued his excellent run in the German capital with some excellent play, and some fabulous long pots interspersed.
Wilson had the head-to-head advantage going into their semi-final with a 4-2 lead over his opponent, although Si had most recently got the better of the Englishman in the last 16 of the Snooker Shoot Out.
Wilson continued the blistering form he showed to whitewash Fan Zhengyi in Friday's quarter-finals and knocked in a 97 break to stamp his authority on the last-four clash.
With the reds tightly packed and the white bunched in with them, Si got the cue ball free without committing a foul which gave Wilson an in.
He did not have much on, but an attempted double into the middle right hit the knuckle and rolled up the table along the rail, before dropping into the right corner pocket for a welcome fluke.

Wilson threatened to run away with the frame but was not as clinical as he could have been as Si had chances at the table to have his say.
But the Chinese player struggled with his long game and with the balls nicely spread, Wilson returned to the baize to close out his eighth consecutive frame in the tournament.
Wilson lost a bit of his rhythm in the third frame, where both players struggled to put together a worthy run. The table was fairly open but with not much on for either player, a tactical battle ensued.
Si found the opening to get involved and edged the frame 70-15 to cut the deficit.
The 21-year-old built some confidence after a sticky start and managed to draw the match level, producing a break of 54 as the players headed for the interval at 2-2.
Those well-earned frames before the break certainly helped Si find his groove as he fired in a brilliant century - with a total clearance of 138 - to take a third consecutive frame and the lead in the match.
A break of 90 followed for the youngster, with another healthy contribution of 55 putting him on track for a spot in the final as Wilson - who was in cruise control before the interval - had a mountain to climb all of a sudden at 5-2 down.
The eighth lasted 38 minutes as Wilson dug deep to stay in the tournament, and a 49 break had him on the up.

A brilliant blue from Si was followed by a fascinating safety exchange, before a Wilson brown meant that the Chinese player needed two snookers.
He notched one of them, but a final pink from Wilson brought the Englishman back to within two frames.
A long pot kept Wilson's momentum going at the start of the ninth frame, but a break of 10 ended abruptly, as a fluky red from Si helped him set about building an advantage.
A precise pot with the black obscuring half the pocket had the Chinese 47-10 to the good, before Wilson escaped a snooker at the second attempt.
A few reds but a missed blue from Wilson was good, but not enough to stop Si , who blasted home a yellow, followed by the blue into the far-right and the pink the shot after to send him into the final showdown.
Later on Saturday, Sam Craigie takes on Judd Trump for a spot in the final to face Si .
Craigie stunned defending champion Ali Carter to reach his first career semi-final, while two-time German Masters winner Trump eliminated John Higgins in the last eight.
