Ali Carter takes two-frame lead after first session of German Masters final

Carter, a 2013 winner of the German Masters, opened up a three-frame advantage in a scrappy opening to the showpiece final.

However, Hamilton, who shocked 2015 world champion Stuart Bingham to reach a first ranking final in 15 years, dug in to take the next two to cut the arrears.
