English Open snooker: Si Jiahui edges out Alexander Ursenbacher, Gary Wilson, Martin Gould and Graeme Dott advance

Si Jiahui hit back from trailing 3-1 to complete a 4-3 win over Alexander Ursenbacher in qualifying for the English Open. Qualifying takes place between September 6-8 in Leicester with the tournament staged at the Brentwood Centre in Essex from 2-8 October live on Eurosport and discovery+. Mark Selby is the defending champion after his 9-6 win over Luca Brecel in December.

World Championship semi-finalist Si Jiahui completed a 4-3 win over Alexander Ursenbacher to qualify for the last 64 of the English Open in Leicester.
Si trailed 3-1 to the Swiss player – who produced knocks of 66 and 77 – but reeled off the final three frames, including a 76 in the sixth frame, to advance to the finals venue in Brentwood, with the tournament live on Eurosport and discovery+ between October 2-8.
Scottish Open winner Gary Wilson produced breaks of 102 and 52 as he was forced to complete a final-frame 4-3 victory against Crucible qualifier Pang Junxu after traling 2-0.
The 2006 world champion Graeme Dott ran out a 4-1 winner against Peng Yisong by claiming the final three frames.
Former German Masters holder Martin Gould completed a 4-2 win over John Astley, while Jimmy Robertson eased through with a 4-0 whitewash of 12-time women's world champion Reanne Evans.
Elsewhere on Wednesday, Hossein Vafaei recovered from his 5-4 loss to Marco Fu in Wuhan Open qualifying by completing a 4-0 win over Liam Graham that included breaks of 99, 81, 84 and 79.
Mark Davis completed a 4-1 win over former Welsh Open champion Joe Perry to book his trip to Brentwood.
Qualifying takes place between September 6-8 in Leicester.
Mark Selby is the defending English champion and will play his opening match at the venue alongside the world's top 16.
