THAT'S US DONE FOR THE AFTERNOON

Join us again at 6.45pm BST for what should be a tremendous evening dig.

AROUND THE TABLES

  • John Higgins 4-2 Graeme Dott
  • Liam Davies 1-4 Luca Brecel
  • David Grace 2-0 Chris Wakelin

KYREN WILSON BEATS MARCO FU 4-0

The run breaks down on 95, but Kyren is through in 46 minutes to meet Elliot Slessor tonight. As for Marco, it's sad to see him play – or not play – like that. Let's hope he finds himself and recovers the form that makes him a three-time ranking-title winner.

Wilson 3-0 FU (73-1)

Kyrizz makes it safe. Can he finish with a ton?

Wilson 3-0 FU (43-1)

Kyren calmly removes balls. He's going to win a match in which his opponent has not participated.

Wilson 3-0 FU (11-1)

Another poor shot from Marco allows Kyren to use the brown to pot a red, then he bags the brown, moves the black, and sends a nasty red along the top rail and into the same pocket. A blue into the middle then moves him into the pack and he's on one to the middle; this could be done and done.

Wilson 3-0 FU (0-1)

A nice red sets Marco away, but then he tries sending a brown to left corner and it's clear immediately he's not given it enough gas; Kyren tries to knock it away from the bag, but can't.

AROUND THE TABLES

  • John Higgins 3-2 Graeme Dott
  • Liam Davies 1-2 Luca Brecel
  • David Grace 0-0 Chris Wakelin

Wilson 3-0 FU

Kyren is one away!

Wilson 2-0 FU (68-7)

Kyren secures the frame, and this is too easy for him. This isn't light-out snooks he's playing, and yet he could easily finish this in under an hour, as I type playing a gorgeous red off side, baulk, side, and into the opposite middle.

Wilson 2-0 FU (38-7)

Oh! Kyren misses a black he shouldn't but is soon back at the table; Marco is having something of a mare, I'm afraid, and this'll soon be 3-0.

Wilson 2-0 FU (19-7)

Marco gets away to left corner via rest, but trying the same shot with the same implement two balls later, he misses and invites Kyren to pot some balls.

AROUND THE TABLES

  • John Higgins 3-2 Graeme Dott
  • Liam Davies 1-2 Luca Brecel
  • David Grace 0-0 Chris Wakelin

Wilson 2-0 FU

Needing just one snooker, Maroc surprisingly concedes.

Wilson 1-0 FU (59-12)

Kyren picks through the balls nicely, and if he can disturb two reds stuck to each other ... which he's not getting on because he misses an easy black looking to go the other way for a looser one. No matter: Marco undercuts with the rest, leaveing it on the lip, and that'll surely be the frame.

Wilson 1-0 FU (36-12)

They're going to recover tbales one and two overnight, we learn, as Kyren gets back in and, the way the balls are, he's a chance to build a handy lead – though securing the frame at this visit will require some red-promotion.

Wilson 1-0 FU (15-12)

An error from Kyren allows Marco a go, and he's a very fine break-builder. Before Covid hit and he took an effective career break, heading back to Hong Kong, he was one of the best around; I hope he can get back to that. But as I type, he runs out of position, so it's a safety shot, white left up the business end.

Wilson 1-0 FU (15-0)

Kyren gets away to left corner and is all business, releasing the black and inspecting its spot - it will have to be replaced beneath it so it's hands clasped in prayer to see if he'll still be able to get at his red of choice. And he cannot, the balls tipping into each other, so it's back to baulk and safety.

AROUND THE TABLES

  • John Higgins 3-2 Graeme Dott
  • Oliver Lines 4-3 Sunny Akani
  • Liam Davies 1-1 Luca Brecel

Wilson 1-0 FU

A run of 80 secures the lead, and the world champ looks in nick.

Wilson 0-0 FU (46-0)

If you know Kyrizzle you'll not be shocked to lewarn that this isn't the tighest break ever compiled, nor that he's still at the table compiling it. The frame is nearly his.

Wilson 0-0 FU (11-0)

Kyren can't puninsh Marco's poor break=off but is soon back at the table potting balls.

WE GO AGAIN

COMING UP NEXT

Kyren Wilson v Marco Fu

AROUND THE TABLES

  • John Higgins 2-2 Graeme Dott
  • Oliver Lines 3-2 Sunny Akani
  • Liam Davies 0-1 Luca Brecel

JUDD TRUMP BEATS MARK DAVIS 4-2

He'll be back tonight, when he'll face Stephen Maguire.

TRUMP 3-2 DAVIS (74-11)

A red cut to left corner means Mark needs a snooker, but he's not coming back to the table; the question is whether this is the thousanth hundred.

TRUMP 3-2 DAVIS (39-11)

Judd is an absolute master at playing well enough, and this looks like further evidence of that. There's work still to do, but he looks in control.

TRUMP 3-2 DAVIS (13-11)

Gorgeous cueing from Mark, a starter stroked diagonally and dead straight to left corner. But he can't parlay it into anything significant. Judd then leaves a nasty one to right corner, perhaps deliberately, and when it's missed as he suspected it would be, he has a chance to secure f&m.

TRUMP 3-2 DAVIS (8-0)

Judd gets in but then misses to right-centre then, a few shots later, nuzzles up to the green and, with no reds near cushions, Mark's got a job on trying to get everything safe; I guess he'll come off the cushion and into the pack; he does.

AROUND THE TABLES

  • John Higgins 2-1 Graeme Dott
  • Oliver Lines 3-2 Sunny Akani
  • Liam Davies 0-0 Luca Brecel

TRUMP 3-2 DAVIS

Judd goes one away and might just've taken command of this match.

TRUMP 2-2 DAVIS (61-23)

A gorgeous double, cue-ball and object-ball barely apart at all, takes Judd closer to the lead, and though he can't sink the black, Mark needs two snookers.

TRUMP 2-2 DAVIS (54-23)

Mark gets back in with a red-black, but there are three reds on the side rail and one on the top. He goes at the latter, leaves it, and is running out of road in this frame, all the more so when Judd liberates another ball.

TRUMP 2-2 DAVIS (46-7)

Judd's soon back at the table, but a surprising miss to left corner means Mark gets a go. And, soon needing to deploy the rest, a nice kiss means a black parallel with the top cushion is easier than otherwise ... but he misses it. He doesn't, though, leave anything, so the frame remains in the balance, just about.

TRUMP 2-2 DAVIS (18-0)

Knowing he's guaranteed to be on the black, Judd steers an expert's long red to left corner. But a misjudgment means he has to take brown instead of blue and he lands on nowt thereafter, so we're back playing safety.

AROUND THE TABLES

  • John Higgins 2-1 Graeme Dott
  • Ricky Walden 3-4 Thepchaiya Un-Nooh
  • Oliver Lines 3-1 Sunny Akani

TRUMP 2-2 DAVIS

A 50 followed by a 54 bring us level again.

TRUMP 1-2 DAVIS (57-0)

Of course, no sooner said that a black is missed - I didn't see that coming - but a booming plant and felicitous kiss mean that 2-2 looks inevitable.

TRUMP 1-2 DAVIS (42-0)

He does score here, and remember: his next ton will be his thousandth (for a while on Tuesday, it looked like he was going to do it with a maxi).

TRUMP 1-2 DAVIS (21-0)

Fine long red from Judd to get in and, with balls available, he should score here.

AROUND THE TABLES

  • John Higgins 1-1 Graeme Dott
  • Ricky Walden 3-2 Thepchaiya Un-Nooh
  • Oliver Lines 2-1 Sunny Akani

TRUMP 1-2 DAVIS

Judd leaves a thin cut to middle on the pink ... and Mark nips it home!

TRUMP 1-1 DAVIS (44-61)

Mark tries a double, misses, and Judd sends blue into the yellow bag ... but can't get rid of the pink.

TRUMP 1-1 DAVIS (44-61)

He leaves the white on the top rail near left corner, black blocking the route to the blue, just off the side ... and Mark mises, hitting the pink; disaster! Judd can now win the frame if he clears the last three balls, but to begin with puts Mark back in and, though he hits, a terrific riposte brings the black back into play.

TRUMP 1-1 DAVIS (29-61)

Mark registers a 40, the highest break of the match, and Judd returns to the table with just the colours left, two four-point snookers required.

TRUMP 1-1 DAVIS (29-33)

Mark rolls clamly to left corner, and the way the balls are now, could easily finish the frame at this visit!

TRUMP 1-1 DAVIS (29-21)

Judd sends one towards leftcorner that looks in, stays out, and is despatched by Mark. And again, he looks to develop reds in the pack, but again, he lands on nothing – this time no colour goes – so he plays safe.

TRUMP 1-1 DAVIS (29-20)

Not for long and it's Mark who gets the next go, a few more reds loosened from the pack. This isn't a great chance yet, but it he get into the cluster off this black then who knows ... he plays it nicely ... and gets nowt in return.

TRUMP 1-1 DAVIS (29-0)

Exceot it never happens. Instead, he totters into the pack, slides off it, and we're back playing safety.

TRUMP 1-1 DAVIS (19-0)

There's a bloke smoothing out the baize now because Judd's seen a ball moving somewhere else, but we're back at it now and after some safety Judd strokes a lovely opener to right corner then gets to work. There are a few loose reds, but the black passes to both corners meaning this run will sink or swim on the quality of the split he gets.

AROUND THE TABLES

  • John Higgins 1-1 Graeme Dott
  • Ricky Walden 2-1 Thepchaiya Un-Nooh
  • Oliver Lines 2-0 Sunny Akani

TRUMP 1-1 DAVIS

Mark misses a snookering opportunity and Judd secures a 30-minute-plus frame.

TRUMP 0-1 DAVIS (54-18)

I say this all thetime, but we associate judd with pyrotechnics and breaks, but what we see far more of is this: cunning safety and forcing yourself over the line. He misses the final red, though, so Mark returns to the table needing a snooker and we see footage of the white moving all of its own accord.

TRUMP 0-1 DAVIS (31-18)

The players develop balls, then Mark, left in the jaws of the yellow bag, leaves one, and Judd drais it then snuggles in behind the yellow. He hits first go but leaves a poke along the cushion, and Judd migght be able to finagle a winning lead out of this.

TRUMP 0-1 DAVIS (23-18)

Knowing he's leaving the world if he misses, Judd sinks a fine pot to middle, but he's running out of pottable balls and indeed misses the brown, offering Mark an opportunity – of sorts. Almost all the remaining reds are gathered on or just above black cush, but he actually misses the one that isn't, then so does Judd. This is scrappy now.

TRUMP 0-1 DAVIS (14-0)

Judd continues using the blue to try and trap Mark and eventually an error allows a cut-back jab to left corner after nine minutes of no balls potted. He gets it down, adds a green, and gets to work on the loose balls – of which there are several, just as there are several out of commission.

TRUMP 0-1 DAVIS (9-0)

But he does next go, Judd landing on nowt so laying a snooker behiund the blue, which is in baulk near the side rail; Mark hits well, leaving the white near black cush.

TRUMP 0-1 DAVIS (9-0)

We being frame two with a safety exchange, then Mark foul-misses twice, so is warned that one more and the frame goes to Judd; he hits and leaves nothing.

AROUND THE TABLES

  • John Higgins 0-0 Graeme Dott
  • Ricky Walden 0-1 Thepchaiya Un-Nooh
  • Oliver Lines 0-0 Sunny Akani

TRUMP 0-1 DAVIS

We asee Judd make poor starts in these matches pretty regularly, but he almost always finds a way to win. Mark's started well, but he's plenty to do from here - as he'll know.

TRUMP 0-0 DAVIS (8-60)

Mark makes the frame safe. He's in the match.

TRUMP 0-0 DAVIS (8-32)

But he soon runs out of position, the reds not in especially friendly places even after he ruffles the pack, and it's Mark who gets the next go. He could seize this frame from here.

TRUMP 0-0 DAVIS (6-26)

But he misses the yellow, Judd clobbers home a typically glorious starter, and with the black on its spot - previously it was replaced on the green – this is a chance to score.

TRUMP 0-0 DAVIS (0-17)

It's Mark in first and he looks nice and calm at the table.
