British Open 2024: Latest scores, results, order of play as Mark Williams begins title defence in Cheltenham

Snooker's biggest stars will embark on The Centaur Arena in Cheltenham for what is the fifth ranking event of the season. The action comes straight after the English Open, with defending champion Mark Williams fighting the likes of Judd Trump and Ronnie O'Sullivan for a ÂŁ100,000 winner's prize. Most of the round one matches have been completed in Leicester, aside from those featuring the top 16.

The fifth ranking event of the 2024/25 season resumes across seven days in Cheltenham, as the sport's biggest stars descend on The Centaur for the British Open.
Mark Williams heads into this prestigious competition as reigning champion following a thrilling 10-7 victory over Mark Selby in last year's event, but he was sent packing in the first round by Rory Thor.
The action began in Leicester earlier in the summer, but 16 ties featuring the world's best players have been held over to the main venue.
Seven-time world champion Ronnie O'Sullivan has withdrawn from the event, but Crucible title holder Kyren Wilson, Luca Brecel and Judd Trump are in action.
