World champion Bai Yulu produced a classy 102 break on her way to retaining the UK Women’s Snooker Championship with a 4-2 victory over former winner Ng On Yee in Leeds.
Despite Hong Kong's Ng producing knocks of 53 and 50 to level up at 2-2 after the century in the second frame, it was Bai who finished in style with runs of 46 and 30 securing her the major title for the second straight year.
In doing so, the talented 22-year-old Chinese potter became the first player to successfully defend the UK and world titles in the women's game since Ng in the 2018/19 season.
Bai's maiden success at the UK Championship was secured with a 4-0 win over 12-time women's world champion Reanne Evens last year.
Bai defeated Tessa Davidson 3-1 in the quarter-finals of this season's tournament before completing a 4-2 victory over Rebecca Kenna with Ng battling past Baipat Siripaporn (3-1) and second seed Mink Nutcharut (4-2) to book her spot in the final.
With Bai running in 102 in the final, it enabled her to match Mink's tournament high break set in a 2-0 win over Man Yan So in the group stage.
