White wins 6-Red title

Jimmy White beat Barry Hawkins 8-6 in the final of the Sangsom 6-Red Grand Prix final in Bangkok to claim his first professional title in five years.

In a see-saw battle, White went 2-0 down but built up a 6-4 lead to take charge of the contest.
Hawkins hit back to level the match 6-6 but White won the last two frames to clinch his first professional success since the 2004 Players Championship.
White beat a host of big names in the knockout stages, including former world champions Shaun Murphy and Mark Williams, defending champion Ricky Walden, and top-16 player Mark King.
White picked up a cheque of 1,000,000 baht (approx ÂŁ18,200) for his win.
