Sara Takanashi extends record at Oberstdorf

Sara Takanashi continued her excellent ski jumping form on Sunday with a second gold medal in as many days in Germany.

The 21-year-old from Japan won her first title of the season in Oberstdorf on Saturday, setting the all-time record for World Cup wins, but extended that record in Sunday's finale with her 55th World Cup victory.

She has ceded her overall title to Norway's Maren Lundby, who took bronze on Sunday, but finished with 250.4 points following jumps of 99 and 102.5 metres.
Takanashi beat Daniela Iraschko-Stolz by 11.6 points and Lundby by 19.4, echoing Saturday's podium.
It was Takanashi's sixth consecutive win in Oberstdorf, a day after overtaking Gregor Schlierenzauer's 53 wins on Saturday to become the ski jumper with the most all-time victories.
Lundby, the Olympic champion, brought her season tally to 1,340 points, finishing ahead of Germany's Katharina Althaus on 928 and Takanashi on 916.
