Yet another win for Katharina Althaus in Lillehammer

The German reigned supreme in both rounds, jumping 138.5m and 139.5 metres to take her total to 308.2 – 23.9 points ahead of home-crowd favourite Lundby.

Japan's Sara Takanashi finished third, meaning she also sits third in the overall World Cup standings, but it is Althaus who has the lead and she was deservedly proud of her performance in Norway.

"It was a great start of the season with one second place and two victories," Althaus said.

"I jumped really well in Lillehammer. Today I posted the longest jump in the competition and I am very satisfied with the performance. I like jumping on big hills. It's more fun."

Lundby's second place was the Norwegian's third podium finish this season and, though victory did not come her way in Lillehammer, she insisted all her focus is on the Winter Olympics in PyeongChang.

"I was hoping for a victory today, but Katharina was really strong," she explained. "I am looking forward to the next competitions. PyeongChang is the highlight of the season and I am working hard to be in the best possible shape."

The athletes will travel to Hinterzarten, Germany for the next round of the Ski Jumping World Cup in two weeks.
