Fans of offshore racing are about to get closer than ever to the action with new streaming show Onboard Live.
A groundbreaking new live broadcast solution, trialled for the first time in The Ocean Race Europe, is making it possible to experience offshore sailing from the most remote corners of the world – live, in high-definition quality.
For the first time ever, all seven competing foiling IMOCA boats - the world’s fastest monohull sailboats - have been fitted with fixed HD cameras, microphones, and cutting-edge satellite connectivity, enabling continuous live-streaming from the open ocean.
At speeds of over 30 knots, and under relentless pressure, the crews are now bringing fans right into their world in real time.
Following on from the Onboard update show - a documentary-style program that airs every Tuesday and Friday on TNT Sports and discovery+ - fans will now be able to step onboard in real time with The Ocean Race Europe teams through this innovative new set-up.
With the ever-evolving world of technology and broadcasting, TNT Sports has teamed up with race organisers to deliver a new and exclusive Onboard Live 30-minute show, starting from Monday, September 8.

Although The Ocean Race Europe is considered a prequel to The Ocean Race itself (taking teams 45,000 nautical miles around the world every four years, with the next edition in 2027), it is no less intense.
In fact, it is a completely different kind of challenge - one that demands relentless focus during the five high-pressure legs across Europe, spanning just several hundred miles each.
The crews quickly become sleep-deprived from a lack of offshore routine, and exhausted through the sheer intensity of the competition.
With The Ocean Race Europe having a strategic and tactical focus, good decision-making under pressure is critical if teams want to win.
Tensions will run high as the teams race the final leg into Boka Bay in Montenegro, with each skipper fighting for the penultimate opportunity to get points on the scoreboard.
Taking advantage of the new camera set-up, Onboard Live promises to take viewers into the minds of these offshore athletes, so when everything is to play for and only one team can win, it promises to be an eventful watch.
