Sailor also told an Australian newspaper he was still considering the prospect of an appeal.
"The way I see it, my career is on hold for two years. But I'll be right to play again when I'm 34," he said.
"This is not the way I want my career to finish. To be honest, I'd be bitter if it all ended on these terms."
"I couldn't handle looking at my resume, seeing all my achievements, seeing dual international, but knowing it all finished because of a drug ban."
The former NSW Waratahs star said that he was would like to finish his career in Europe, and was also considering a return to his originial code of rugby league.
"Two years out is a long time. The problem will be getting up every day and training hard and trying to keep fit. But I reckon I could play two or three more years after this ban is over," said Sailor.
"I'd like to play in Europe. There are a lot of guys over there playing at 34 or 35, so age isn't an issue for me.
"I've never had many serious injuries and I'm a winger. I know I'll have the desire to make it back."
Sailor won 37 caps for Australia in union, playing in the 2003 World Cup final against England.
He switched codes from rugby league in a lucrative deal in 2002, after earning 21 caps for the Kangaroos.
