SPRINGBOKS SHOW CLASS TO TRIUMPH WITH 14 MEN
South Africa showed their class as they battled to a 32-17 victory against France - despite playing the second half with 14 men.
The Springboks trailed for over an hour of the Quilter Nations Series match before three tries in the last 16 minutes secured them a memorable win, despite Lood de Jager seeing red in the first half.
Les Bleus started with a bang and the combination of Thomas Ramos and Damian Penaud resulted in a brace of first-half tries for the latter.
However, South Africa remained in touch through a pair of Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu penalties before Cobus Reinach scored their opening try.
With the Springboks a point behind, De Jager was shown a straight red for a shoulder-to-head tackle on the falling Ramos before half-time.
France dominated the opening 15 minutes of the second half but only had a Ramos penalty to show for their efforts.
When Pierre-Louis Barassi was shown yellow for a deliberate knock-on to deny an attacking move, cracks showed in the France defence.
South Africa took advantage as Andre Esterhuizen powered over before Grant Williams and Feinberg-Mngomezulu added further tries to secure the win.
The victory provided a perfect 100th cap for South African legend Siya Kolisi. The Springboks meet Italy next weekend.

Siya Kolisi says that earning his 100th cap for South Africa is a special achievement.
He told TNT Sports: "it's special.
"It means a lot to me and my family and to the team too. I can't take credit for everything that I've achieved.
"There have been so many people along the way that have helped me.
"Everything that I've done, it's not by my own doing. I'm nothing without the boys. I'm so grateful for the way we fought, you know.
"Anybody who grew up in similar circumstances to me, no matter what skin colour they are, no matter where they are in the world, I just want them to know it's possible. It's not just me."
