ENGLAND PARTY LIKE ITS 2012 TO COMPLETE LANDMARK WIN OVER ALL BLACKS
England produced a rousing recovery to complete their first home win over New Zealand since 2012 with the boot of man-of-the-match George Ford helping them enjoy a breathless 33-19 Quilter Nations Series victory at a bouncing Allianz Stadium.
It looked like being another long day for Steve Borthwick's side against their old foes as tries from Leicester Fainga'anuku (14') and Codie Taylor (18') handed the All Blacks a 12-0 lead from their first two meaningful visits of the day to the England 22.
But the white shirts quickly regrouped after themselves making a bright start with the outstanding Ollie Lawrence powering over the line on 22 minutes before the excellent Ford produced two timely drop goals (38, 40) to leave his side only a point adrift at the break.
It was England who assumed control of proceedings in a frantic second half with excellent finishes by Sam Underhill (43') and Fraser Dingwall (55') seeing England extend their lead before Will Jordan (65') went over for the All Blacks after Ben Earl had harshly been yellow carded for illegal play.
But it was England who had the final say as Ford kept his cool to slot a penalty on 75 minutes to give his side a vital 28-19 lead in the dying moments.
Tom Roebuck then completed the scoring with another superb finish on 77 minutes after some nifty footwork by Henry Pollock as England celebrated a deserved 10th straight win.
The All Blacks, who had Codie Taylor yellow carded in the opening moments of the second period for illegally playing the ball on the ground, had enjoyed 36 wins and only eight defeats over the past 120 years of combat between the sides, but for once were second best as their hopes of a Home Nations Grand Slam were crushed by England's passion play.
England had last defeated the All Blacks 19-7, six years ago in the World Cup semi-finals, with their last Twickenham win coming in a memorable 38-21 success on home soil at the outset of December 13 years ago.
This latest one was arguably worth the wait.

FORD 'LOVED' ENGLAND'S POWERS OF RECOVERY AGAINST ALL BLACKS
"I loved it, it was a challenging game," said the immaculate match-winning fly-half on TNT Sports.
"We went 12-0 down and came back well. We became a bit inaccurate, so we had to work a few things out and the boys did that really well.
"We are big on trying to be calm and composed and give the right messages to the lads. We stuck to our plan and managed to go in at half-time 11-12.
"The drop-goals were always part of the plan. You want to come away with something and a drop-goal was the best way to do it.
"The bench are brilliant, but it is not just the 23 today."

FROM TNT SPORTS REPORTER ROB HEMINGWAY AT ALLIANZ STADIUM:
"History made.
"New Zealand stormed back at the end as Allianz Stadium grew nervous, but George Ford "had a blinder" - as NZ skipper Scott Barrett said in his post-match interview just now - and 12 months on from last year's heartache, England no. 10 was the architect of this win, and a deserved player of the match.
"England and Steve Borthwick finally have the win over The All Blacks they craved, and longer-term - what sort of confidence will this give them looking ahead to 2027, and the World Cup down under?"

They don't come around that often. In fact, only a ninth win for England against the All Blacks, and first at home since 2012, but they have been the more intelligent, stronger and clinical side since falling 12-0 behind.

FROM TNT SPORTS REPORTER ROB HEMINGWAY AT ALLIANZ STADIUM:
"The penalty count stands at 10-3 in New Zealand's favour. George Ford said in the week he was targeting under 8 in that particular statistic, and in many ways it's testament to England's play that they are ahead in spite of that number.
"They have also struggled all night at lineout time, with the All Blacks having now pilfered six English lineouts.
"Can they hold on despite these struggles?"

FROM TNT SPORTS REPORTER ROB HEMINGWAY AT ALLIANZ STADIUM:
"Bomb Squad imminent
"Pollock-Stuart-Genge-Curry
"A tentative reminder of the weight of history on England as they eye an historic win: they have only beaten the All Blacks twice since June 2003, and they have only ever beaten them 8 times in 46 attempts (17%).
