TIGERS MAUL WOEFUL QUINS TO STAY ON COURSE FOR PLAY-OFFS
Leicester Tigers boosted their Gallagher PREM play-off hopes by dismantling a woeful Harlequins 34-7 at The Stoop.
In the final round of fixtures before the Six Nations begins in a fortnight, the Tigers racked up five tries with Gabriel Hamer-Webb (20'), Jack van Poortvliet (26'), Freddie Steward (61'), Jamie Blamire (74') and Izaia Perese (77') ripping apart a sorry home defence with a bonus-try triumph.
The pick of the bunch from Leicester was the finish of Van Poortvliet, who ran onto his guided chip over the top before picking up pace to complete a wonderful score with a thrilling piece of creative running.
The boot of Billy Searle added a further nine points as the visitors ended the day in fourth spot, only two points behind second-placed Northampton before their visit to Sale later on Saturday.
Quins last won in the Gallagher PREM against bottom club Newcastle on October 25, but were facing the humiliation of failing to register a point at their home ground since losing 39-0 to Saracens in 2014 until Chandler Cunningham-South managed to reach out his arm to touch down in added time.
Not that it would have meant much to some home fans, who had headed for the exit doors at the stunned Twickenham ground long before the final whistle sounded.
Quins remain second from bottom after 10 matches, five points clear of Newcastle, who were destroyed 73-14 by Saracens.

WE CAN SEE YOU SNEAKING OUT
80'
THERE GOES THE FULL-TIME WHISTLE!
Too good in the end from Leicester as they complete a dominant 34-7 victory to continue their surge towards the Gallagher PREM play-offs. But very, very disappointing for Quins.
79'
A LATE CONSOLATION TRY FOR QUINS
Heading into added time as Cunningham-South makes a frantic reach for the line. Did he reach the line? And the answer is yes. Quins finally have some points on the board. 34-7 to Leicester as Smith adds extra two points.
77'
CAN THE QUINS FIND A CONSOLATION SCORE?
Leicester have done the hard work today. Tigers were well on top in the first half and second half. Quins failing to register at The Stoop as they face a first zero at home since 2014 against Saracens.
75'
A FEW OF THE HOME FANS HAVE SEEN ENOUGH
Can't really blame them. Their side second best today and then some.
73'
TRY! AND QUINS ARE FALLING APART AS WE SPEAK!
Izaia Perese off the bench and he sprints clear to add a brilliant fifth try of the day. And it is suddenly 34-0 with Quins gasping for air out there.
71'
TRY! AND LEICESTER WILL HAVE THE BONUS-POINT TRY!
Jamie Blamire joins the party as the score moves to 29-0 with a fourth try after driving back Quins. Easy finish in the end after the big men did the hard yards for Blarmire to touch down.
69'
ALMOST A DONE DEAL THEN FOR TIGERS
Just a question of how much more damage will Leicester do in final 10 minutes as Ollie Hassell-Collins just fails to race onto another dangerous attacking move by the visitors.
67'
SOME MORE HEAVY HITTING BY THE TIGERS
Marcus Smith tries to open his box of tricks, but the muscle of Leicester is too much as Smith ends being sacked by Joaquin Moro, who is given plenty of high fives for that hit. Story of the match really.

A PRETTY GLUM DAY FOR HARLEQUINS
Have not lacked them in the Gallagher Premiership this season, but the manner of this is pretty desperate stuff. Last win in this competition came against Newcastle on October 25. Run doesn't look like ending today.
61'
TRY! LEICESTER WITH A THIRD TRY OF THE AFTERNOON!
Freddie Steward with an explosive burst through middle via Van Poortvliet's pass and Searle pops over the extras. 24-0 to the visitors. Surely game over now. If it wasn't already now.

TIGERS PUTTING BODIES ON THE LINE OUT THERE
Emeka Ilione looks like he is playing with one arm at the moment. Smith tries to launch a solo run from deep for Quins, but he can only find Searle, who does well to deal with the threat via some timely footwork.
55'
LEICESTER SURVIVE THE LATEST QUINS ATTACK
Green with the chip and charge over the top, but just too much on the kick and its ends up bouncing out of play. Tigers thump the ball long via Searle.
53'
NEED TO GET THE SCOREBOARD MOVING
Smith sets up the line-out for Quins. Leicester giving away the penalties here as Cunningham-South is halted on the charge. Chessum wanting a quick word with his side after receiving advice from the referee.
51'
TIGERS PRODUCING SOME REAL METTLE IN DEFENCE
But back come Quins, building through the phases. Smith picks out Murley before Leicester are penalised for offside. Much better from the home side.
49'
QUINS EARN A RARE PENALTY AND CHEER
The crowd loving that moment as Murley chips over the top and Leicester are penalised for failing to release under pressure. Smith kicks for touch as David returns from the sin bin. Back to 15 now.
