England international Adam Radwan has left Newcastle Falcons to join Leicester Tigers with immediate effect.
The winger made his league debut for Falcons during the 2017-18 campaign and went on to score 59 tries in 128 games.
However, he will now join Tigers on a "multi-year" deal, with the BBC reporting that his former club are set to receive compensation on account of his mid-season departure.
Falcons director of rugby Steve Diamond admitted he did not want to stand in the much-loved stalwart's way.
"When a player of Adam's ability comes to see you and says, 'look, I want to take the opportunity that has come up', then we have to be honest with ourselves," Diamond told the BBC.
"He's a very good player, but I don't want to stand in people's way.
"We're in transition and a good opportunity has come up for him to go to Leicester.
"I've had a long conversation with him over this. It's not happened overnight. Three or four clubs approached us and I think this is the right thing for him to do.
"I could have convinced him to stay to the end of the season, but if I was in his shoes, how would I want to be advised?
"I care about Newcastle massively but, equally, I have a duty of care to lads like Adam and the advice is the right thing."

Radwan won two caps for England in 2021 and got on the scoresheet in both his outings against Canada and Tonga.
He admitted that Newcastle Falcons would always hold a special place in his heart.
"I’ve loved my time at the club and have got nothing but positive memories.
"The supporters and everybody at Kingston Park have always been great with me, and I can’t express how much that has meant.
"I will always have huge affection for Newcastle Falcons and I hope they go on to enjoy the success that they deserve."
