Saracens confirm former fly-half Owen Farrell to return from Racing 92 for 2025/26 Gallagher Premiership Rugby season

Saracens have reached an agreement with Racing 92, which will see Owen Farrell rejoin the club on a two-year deal after spending a year with the French side. Farrell previously spent 16 years at Sarries, making 252 appearances following his debut in 2008. His return to the Gallagher Premiership means he is eligible for England's tour of Argentina and the USA in July.

Owen Farrell’s return to Saracens has been confirmed.
The 33-year-old fly-half has signed a two-year deal to rejoin Sarries following a year in France with Racing 92.
"Saracens is my home and the opportunity to come back is one that excites me enormously," said Farrell.
"Having watched from afar this season, it is clear to see that the club has incredible potential, and I can’t wait to get back in the mix for the 25/26 season."
Farrell made his senior debut with Saracens in 2008 and has made 256 appearances for the club.
His first spell lasted 16 seasons and saw him win six Premiership titles and three European Champions Cups.
Saracens director of rugby Mark McCall said: "Owen has Saracens in his DNA; his competitive spirit is woven into the fabric of this club, and we are delighted he has chosen to come home.
"He returns to a young group full of potential, players eager to learn, play and push for success. We know he will love being part of where this group, and this club, are headed."
Farrell’s return to the Gallagher Premiership makes him eligible for England's tour of Argentina and the USA in July.
Farrell has not played for England since the 2023 World Cup but was ineligible for the squad following his move abroad. He was also left out of the British & Irish Lions squad for this summer's tour of Australia.
Saracens finished sixth in the Premiership last season as they missed out on the play-offs.
McCall last month suggested Farrell could soon turn his attention to coaching.
"I would be very surprised if he didn’t commit to coaching, to be honest," McCall said. "Rugby is in his skin.
"He has got a great IQ and a passion and love for it, like his dad [Andy Farrell]. I would be absolutely amazed if that wasn’t what he wanted to do."
