The weather wreaked havoc on the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, and now it is starting to impact the events. Two sports have already been brought to a halt by bad weather, but things could be about to change if the weather forecasts are to be believed. So, with that in mind, let's have a closer look at how the weather has impacted the start of this summer's Olympic Games.

Tokyo 2020 was labelled the hottest Olympic Games ever, but if things do not change soon, Paris 2024 could end up as the wettest.
The Opening Ceremony was marred by bad weather, with athletes drenched on the Seine and dignitaries forced to retreat to the safety of their umbrellas.
Some athletes have defied the elements, with Britain's Anna Henderson sealing a sensational silver medal on the soaking wet streets of Paris.
However, the rain has meant that some athletes will have to wait to represent their country on the grandest stage of them all.

WHEN Will it stop raining in Paris?

The weather is finally starting to clear after torrential downpours that soured the first few days in Paris.
BBC Weather is forecasting that the clouds will clear and the rain will stop overnight.
Things will only get better in Paris, with forecasts suggesting that the sun will come out and temperatures rise to a high of 31 degrees celsius over the next three days.
The wet weather could return on Wednesday though, so athletes will need to prepare for all eventualities.

Which events have been impacted by the weather?

Sports fans have been treated to an abundance of competition during an action-packed opening day at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

However, some athletes will have to wait for the clouds to clear before they bid to win an Olympic medal.
That included the competitors in the men's street skateboarding, which will now take place on July 29, having initially been scheduled to commence on the opening day.
"The risk factor becomes too high when skateboarding in the rain," said the spokesperson.
"The water creates a lack of traction that is extremely dangerous, especially in consideration of the cement and metal obstacles they're skating,"
Skateboarding is not the only sport to have been impacted by the rain, with play on the outside courts at Roland-Garros suspended until Sunday.
