Winter Olympics 2026 recap – GB men's curlers defeat Switzerland in semi-final after Eileen Gu and Zoe Atkin reach halfpipe final, gold for Alysa Liu

The Winter Olympics 2026 continues in Milano Cortina on Thursday with seven more gold medals up for grabs. Some of the highlights of Day 13 will see Great Britain’s hopes of pushing for curling medals decided as the round robin comes to a climax while glory will be up for grabs in the figure skating and the women's ice hockey

"We have had struggles with technique all week, and it was the same again in the first half," said Grant Hardie on the BBC. "The coaches gave us a drilling of what we needed to change.
"We adapted well in the second half. The shot from Bruce in the seventh, hopefully we will talk for a long time. That was incredible and gave us a chance to win."

SHIFFRIN THANKS FANS FOR GOLDEN SUPPORT IN EMOTIONAL TRIUMPH
Skiing icon Mikaela Shiffrin thanked fans for their support in the "incredible moments" of the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Milano Cortina, while she also dedicated the gold medal to her late father. Shiffrin left Beijing without a medal four years ago and was still not back on the podium after her first two events here. But she overcame significant pressure to win gold in the slalom.

Team GB were facing losing three shots, but end up flipping the hammer and steal to level at 4-4 at end of the sixth end. Bruce Mouat rising to the occasion, and the Swiss end up nudging their own stone as GB lie shot right in the centre of the house. Wow! Big miss for Swiss.
