AMI NAKAI WILL LEAD THIS COMPETITION!
Amber Glenn kicked off the women's short program with a brilliant triple axel, but lost her way during the routine, missing the triple toe loop to register a score of only 67.39 and end the evening in tears. Brutal stuff.
Ami Nakai remains out in front on 78.71 before the free skate on Thursday. What a supreme competition.
Thanks for joining us. We will back at 7am for day 12 tomorrow morning, bright and early. See you then.
  • 1. Nakai Ami (JPN) 78.71
  • 2. Sakamoto Kaori (JPN) 77.23
  • 3. Alysa Liu (USA) 76.59

AMI NAKAI CONTINUES TO HOLD TOP SPOT
Kaori Sakamoto with a score of 77.23 to leave her in second spot behind her compatriot. The triple axel holding sway you could argue at the top of the leaderboard for Nakai.

A BIT OF REACTION FROM TEAM GB'S CURLING DEFEAT TO CANADA
Skip Bruce Mouat told the BBC: "After the blip in the first end, we felt we had the momentum going into the next, but unfortunately the angles and situations did not go our way. We are disappointed not to come away with the win.
"We know that we need to come away with a win tomorrow and we know USA are a good team too. We are a resilient team and I am sure we can win."
Grant Hardie: "It was not a game you would have said we were playing well. We made too many mistakes and we know what we did wrong. We are running out of time to put it right. Hopefully we can deliver the right results tomorrow."

GERMANY HEADING FOR BOBSLEIGH VICTORY!
Team GB drop down the pecking order.
They are behind the French and Netherlands, so probably looking at a 12th-place finish after a 56.17 run - the tenth best in Heat 4 so far.
In reality, the gold looks done and dusted for Lochner and Fleischhauer but there is a chance of the bronze medal denying Germany a clean sweep.

BREAKING: TEAM GB MEN'S CURLERS SUFFER DEFEAT TO CANADA
A 9-5 defeat for Bruce Mouat's side, who are going to require a win over USA tomorrow to keep alive any hopes of reaching the last four. Probably needing favours elsewhere. Which would be closing wins for Switzerland and Canada against Italy.

THE KEY BEHIND THE PUSH FOR GOLD
The 'tush push' has become the worldwide standard of team pursuit racing in speed skating, but what is it? The technique was first introduced by Team USA and is considered more efficient over the course of a race than traditional drafting. It has also been likened to NASCAR, used by the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFL, and described as "ballroom dancing with knives on your feet".

LOOKS LIKE GAME OVER FOR TEAM GB!
Canada have just stolen another shot to move 8-5 clear in the eighth end. Unless they can turn this around, GB need to beat USA in their final match, and hope that Canada and Switzerland defeat Italy in their final two matches. Otherwise they won't make the medal matches.
