Tallus outdid his team-mate and rival Hannu Manninen, whose best distance was 103.5 metres.
Manninen, the most successful Nordic combined athlete in World Cup history, is looking for his first individual Olympic medal in what will be his fourth Games.
Stronger in the cross-country part of the event, Manninen also faces a challenge from his German rival Ronny Ackermann in Saturday's event.
