After 11 successful years, Marc Marquez and Honda are set to part ways. The six-time world champion will end his current contract a year early after the two parties came to an agreement, with the manufacturer saying the decision is in "their best interests to each pursue other avenues in the future". Marquez is rumoured to be joining Gresini Ducati for the 2024 season.

Marc Marquez and Honda have agreed to terminate their contract at the end of the 2023 MotoGP season.
Despite one year remaining on the current four-year deal, rider and team have "mutually agreed" to part ways, according to a statement from Honda Racing Corporation.
They wrote: “Honda Racing Corporation and Marc Marquez have mutually elected to terminate their four-year contract prematurely at the end of the 2023 MotoGP World Championship season.
“With a year still remaining on the four-year contract between HRC and Marc Marquez, both parties have mutually agreed to end their collaboration upon completion of the 2023 MotoGP World Championship season.
"Both parties agreed it was in their best interests to each pursue other avenues in the future to best achieve their respective goals and targets.
"This brings an end to 11 years of collaboration between the #93 and HRC in which they achieved six premier class World Championships, five Triple Crowns, 59 wins, 101 podiums and 64 pole positions together.”
They added: “Both parties will continue to give their full support for the remaining rounds of the 2023 MotoGP World Championship season. HRC wish Marc Marquez the best in his future endeavours.”
Marquez, 30, joined Honda in 2012 and became the youngest MotoGP world champion a year later.
He successfully defended his title in 2014 and added four more titles in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019.
"Thank you for this great journey!” Marquez wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
"11 years together. We shared unforgettable moments: 6 World Championships, 5 Triple Crowns, 59 victories, 101 podiums and 64 poles.
"Hard work, determination and bond we have built over the years. Laughs, tears, joys, hard moments, but most importantly: a unique and unrepeatable relationship."
Marquez has been heavily rumoured to be joining Gresini Ducati, although neither the team or rider are yet to confirm this.
