APRILIA DOMINATE THE BRAZIL GRAND PRIX WITH BRILLIANT PERFORMANCE IN GOIANA

It was a fantastic day for Aprilia with their 1-2 giving them the lead in both the riders and manufacturers' championships.

Marco Bezzecchi clinched his fourth consecutive victory, with two this season, and has jumped to the top of the riders' standings.

His team-mate, Jorge Martin, brought his Aprilia home in second place and scored his first Grand Prix podium since his championship win in 2024.

Fabio Di Giannantonio finished in P3 after an intense battle with the seven-time world champion Marc Marquez, rounding off this weekend with back-to-back podiums.

Ducati seems to be on the back foot of Aprilia, who will certainly be ramping up their charge to snagging both titles.

BEZZECCHI: 'I PUSHED MYSELF OVER THE LIMIT'

His winning streak continues with a fourth consecutive Grand Prix victory, including the final two races of last season. Marco Bezzecchi led a majority of the race with ease after a brilliant start saw him jump past the polesitter.

Bezzecchi said: "Not bad. I'm very, very happy.

"It was as a tough weekend, it was super tough on Friday. We started in a bad way, and it was difficult to keep the motivation super high, but the guys did a wonderful job.

"I also pushed myself over the limit to try to compensate for everything I could. And at the end, we found a way to make the bike in a fantastic way.

"I adjusted some details to my riding. And from this morning, I felt better, so I said, 'Okay, maybe I can try to fight.'

"It was an amazing race. I'm super happy. I want to dedicate this victory to Robbie, who unfortunately passed away last week.

"He was a dear friend of mine, so it was tough. And I'm very happy that I can dedicate this to him."

MARTIN: 'WE CAN DELIVER GOOD THINGS THIS YEAR'

Jorge Martin continued his beautiful weekend in Brazil, wrapping it up with another podium scored today with a P2 finish at the Autodromo Internacional Ayrton Senna.

Martin said: "Marco was really, really strong. At some point of the race, I thought I could catch up, but luckily Fabio caught Marc and I could go through.

"I was faster at that point, I was trying to manage everything on the bike.

"You know, for me, long runs are really unpredictable. So every lap was a bit different.

"I was struggling a bit towards the end, but, you know, I managed.

"Well, I tried to win that, but it was really difficult to take it from Marco.

"Anyway, super happy for closing this solid weekend, thanks to Aprilia.

"They are an unbelievable team, thanks to Marco, because he's helping me a lot. And I think we are a great team, and we can deliver good things this year."

DI GIANNANTONIO: 'APRILIA HAD SOMETHING MORE'

Fabio Di Giannantonio refused to relinquish P3 to Marc Marquez, fending off the seven-time world champion to make his second podium this weekend.

Di Giannantonio said: "I pushed really hard, especially because this morning, I had the bang on my left shoulder like last year.

"So I didn't want to think about it. But once I started the race, and hard braking on the left, I was really struggling.

"It was difficult at the beginning. The Aprilia had something more compared to us.

"The battle with Marc was super fun. Always aggressive from inside, but it's normal because this track is quite tight.

"It's not a win, but for sure, it's a great one, and I'm happy to have battled with him."

BEZZECCHI WINS THE BRAZIL GRAND PRIX

Marco Bezzecchi is the winner of the Brazil Grand Prix, picking up his second win of the season in a chaotic weekend in Goiania. Jorge Martin comes home in second place, while Fabio Di Giannantonio takes the last step of the podium.

THEY ARE GAINING ON MARTIN

Fabio Di Giannantonio is stronger than Marc Marquez in the final sector of the race, while Marquez makes up the pace along the straight and in the tight corners. Marquez was running in fourth place on the penultimate lap, but hoped for another chance to take the last step on the podium.

The battle was inching closer to Jorge Martin, whose pace was slowly dipping as the race draws to a close. He is 3.1s behind his teammate Marco Bezzecchi.

DIGI AND MARQUEZ SCRAP IT OUT

Both Fabio Di Giannantonio and Marc Marquez were starting to close in on Jorge Martin, running in second place, on Lap 19. Martin could be dropping off the pace as he is still struggling with completing a full race distance due to his injuries.

Marc Marquez managed to pull off a sneaky move around the inside of Fabio Di Giannantonio on a dirty part of the track on Lap 18. The VR46 rider tried to take his position back at the entry to Turn 1 on Lap 19, but Marc defended hard and kept his lines tight.

In a switcheroo at Turn 12, DiGi snatched the position back after tailing close behind the Factory Ducati rider. Marquez ran slightly wide, which left the position up for grabs.

At the front of the pack, Marco Bezzecchi led the race comfortably ahead of his fellow Aprilia rider.

CAN MARQUEZ PULL OFF ANOTHER MOVE?

Jorge Martin has put in a personal best lap, but it does not matter to Marco Bezzecchi as he has pulled 2.2s away from his team-mate.

Behind, Marc Marquez has been creeping up on Fabio Di Giannantonio, sitting just 0.2s behind the VR46 rider on Lap 17. The seven-time world champion is likely using a similar strategy to his Sprint yesterday, waiting for a slip-up from the VR46 rider before pouncing.

The top four have pulled almost four seconds away from the remainder of the pack, while Bezzecchi carefully controls the pace.

BEZZECCHI COSY AT THE FRONT OF THE PACK

The two Marquez brothers slotted in fourth and fifth place at the beginning of Lap 13, as the Ducati looked to be at a disadvantage compared to the Aprilia. Marc was showing a great pace tailing Fabio Di Giannantonio, but he could not make the move.

There was a small bit of contact between Pedro Acosta and Alex Marquez, with Acosta looking to dive around the Gresini rider. Marquez closed the door on the move, and the bikes briefly touched but both remained firmly in the fight. In a shocking lunge, Ai Ogura snatched the position from Acosta at Turn 1 on Lap 15.

Marco Bezzecchi seemed at ease leading the race, with Jorge Martin in second place.

BAGNAIA CRASHES OUT OF THE RACE

The win could be in the bag for Aprilia this evening with both riders looking strong. Marco Bezzecchi has comfortably led the first 10 laps of the Brazil Grand Prix, and held a 1.7s lead over his team-mate.

In the midfield, Francesco Bagnaia remained in 11th place, struggling to climb into the top 10. He is sandwiched between Johann Zarco on the Honda, and Raul Fernandez. He was beginning to pick up the pace on Zarco, but skid wide off the track at Turn 1 on the entry to Lap 11.

At the same time, Joan Mir also ran wide and crashed out of the Grand Prix at Turn 4. Both riders are okay.

The battle between Alex Marquez and Pedro Acosta has picked up again, with Marquez snatching fifth place from the KTM rider.

BEZZECCHI LEADS AN APRILIA 1-2

Marc Marquez lost two positions to Fabio Di Giannantonio and Jorge Martin at Turn 3, after DiGi snuck past him and opened the door to Martin. Aprilia has been strong all day, and the conditions favour the bike.

On Lap 7, it was an Aprilia 1-2 with Marco Bezzecchi at the helm. Both riders are lapping around two-tenths faster than the rest of the grid, with Bezzecchi holding a 2.3s gap to the world champion.

Behind, Alex Marquez engaged in a battle with Pedro Acosta for fifth place as the Gresini rider grappled with his struggles for grip. His team-mate, Fermin Aldeguer, has lost three positions since the start of the race.

KTM have shared these struggles, with Maverick Vinales, Enea Bastianini, and Brad Binder at the back of the pack. It is only Acosta who seems comfortable with the KTM.

MARTIN ON THE RUN, APRILIA LOOKING GOOD

Marc Marquez is getting into the groove, beginning to close the gap down to Marco Bezzecchi in the lead of the Brazil Grand Prix. Meanwhile, his teammate Francesco Baganaia found himself in 11th place on Lap 4 as he struggled to overtake Fermin Aldeguer.

Jorge Martin, however, was making moves. He retook his position from Pedro Acosta, after gaining some more grip in his tyres. Perhaps Acosta's soft rear tyres are beginning to wear down much quicker than the rest of the pack, especially considering the blistering heat.

So far there have been no crashes around the Autodromo Internacional Ayrton Senna. The track has had its fair share of issues, and it is expected to wreak havoc by the end of the race.

MARQUEZ HUNTING DOWN BEZ

Fabio Di Giannantonio ran wide heading into Lap 2, and lost the position to Marc Marquez who looked rather slow compared to Marco Bezzecchi. The Aprilia rider stormed off into the distance, starting to create a gap to the rest of the pack.

Behind, Jorge Martin fell under pressure from Pedro Acosta, who shot past him around Turn 13. The Aprilia looked fast, but Acosta was quicker. Joan Mir seemed to be comfortable on the Honda, climbing six positions in the first three laps.

BEZZECCHI SNATCHES THE LEAD

The polesitter Fabio Di Giannantonio got off to a good start, but Marco Bezzecchi got off to an even better one. The Aprilia rider shot off the line and snatched the lead from DiGi with ease.

His team-mate, Jorge Martin, also found himself in a brilliant position, gaining a position in the hunt for Marc Marquez. Pedro Acosta made an excellent start to the Grand Prix, on the soft rear tyre - which could make a massive difference in the early stages of the race.

The riders have set out on the warm up lap. The track temperature is 52°C, and it is definitely a blisteringly hot day in Brazil with the air temperature around 31°C.

There are just five minutes to go until we go racing in Brazil. Who will come out on top?

The race distance has been shortened due to the tricky track conditions, so riders will only have to complete 23 laps around the Autodromo Internacional Ayrton Senna.

WHAT A DAY FOR MARTIN

It was a glorious Sprint day in Goiania for Jorge Martin, who secured his first podium finish with a P3 at the Autódromo Internacional Ayrton Senna. This is his first podium finish since his title-winning campaign in 2024, after last season saw his title defence plagued by injuries.

Last season was incredibly tough for Martin, having switched from his title-winning Prima Pramac to a struggling Aprilia. Matters were made worse when he picked up an injury during testing, which delayed his start to the 2025 season.

On his return, after missing the first few races of the season, he was sent back to the hospital after a crash in training. This one left his hand broken, which worsened his initial recovery period. Thinking it could not get worse, he returned to the Qatar Grand Prix and suffered a horrific crash that left him with a collapsed lung and 11 broken ribs.

After all of this, he made his comeback in Brazil with a podium finish. Martin said: "I'm really, really happy.

"Thanks to all the people who helped me arrive here. It's been a tough journey.

"Two months ago, I couldn't eat - my girlfriend was feeding me.

"Now I'm here, so yeah, thank you.

"I hope that we continue improving."

THE TITLE DEFENCE STARTS NOW

After securing his seventh premier class championship, Marc Marquez picked up another injury at the Grand Prix Indonesia in October. The reigning champion was forced to sit out the remainder of the season and focus on his recovery for this year.

When he made his much-anticipated return in Thailand, he seemed to be a little off. This raised doubts about his ability to defend his title, with the factory Ducati rider retiring from the race.

He spoke about not feeling comfortable on the bike in the opening round, but his performance yesterday showed that he has since bonded with the GP26. The Spaniard was patient behind polesitter Fabio Di Giannantonio, and waited for the VR46 rider to slip up before snatching the lead.

His victory yesterday marked his first win this season and his first win since Japan last year.

LET’S TALK ABOUT THAT SINKHOLE

The Sprint race yesterday evening was delayed by roughly 20 minutes after a sinkhole was discovered on the main straight of the Autódromo Internacional Ayrton Senna. Race organisers said that heavy rainfall had caused a sinkhole on the track's main straight.

They attempted to repair the sinkhole on the track, which measures two metres by one metre and is waist-deep, by filling it with gravel and asphalt before putting a layer of cement on top. Although it was not directly on the racing line, it was still along the main straight and was not exactly unavoidable.

Luckily, it did not give any riders problems during the Sprint race, but it raises questions about the track conditions for this evening. Rather than a 15-lap shoot-out, riders will have to compete in the Grand Prix after a full day of usage.
