Francesco Bagnaia fell from pole position to third at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, then crashed as he attempted to catch back up to leaders Jorge Martin and Enea Bastianini, the eventual victor. He entered the MotoGP double-header at Misano 23 points behind Martin in the World Championship and exits it with a deficit of 24, his DNF undoing plenty of good work over the rest of the weekends.
