Nick Woodbridge makes World Cup final after two-year absence

All four of Great Britain's men made it safely through to Saturday's modern pentathlon World Cup 3 final in Rome after solid displays.

After Freyja Prentice and Kate French got through on Wednesday it was the turn of the mean with Joe Evans and Tom Toolis finishing second and third in Group A.
There was also a top-three finish for Joe Choong in Group B while two-time Olympian Nick Woodbridge came through on points on his long-awaited return from injury.
Woodbridge, who is making his first World Cup appearance for two years after a hip injury, won 19 of his fencing bouts and clocked the second quickest swim time in Group B with 1:59.98.
His time of 11:12.17 saw him lose time in the run/shoot and, while he missed out on one of the eight automatic qualification spots, a score of 1198 was enough to book his final berth.
Evans meanwhile matched group winner Simon Casse on points to make progress while Toolis was just one point behind the pair.
And for Choong, a score of 1207 was enough to see him third and ensure that Great Britain have six finalists.
