Amberleigh House wins

Amberleigh House, ridden by Graham Lee for veteran trainer Ginger McCain, won the Grand National at Aintree on Saturday. It was the fourth success in the big race for McCain who won it three times in the 1970s with Red Rum.

The 12-year-old struck on the run-in to deny 10-1 co-favourite Clan Royal by three lengths.
Jockey Graham Lee timed his run to perfection to snatch victory in the 4m 4f marathon.
Lord Atterbury was third with last year's winner Monty's Pass fourth. Long-time leader Hedgehunter fell at the last fence.
McCain is best known for training Red Rum, the legendary horse who remains the only three-time winner of the Grand National and who ashes are housed beneath the Aintree winning post.
The 73-year-old has had few runners in the Aintree race since but had always been confident about Amberleigh House's chances.
Result of the Aintree Grand National steeplechase run over four miles and four furlongs (7.2 km) on Saturday:
1. Amberleigh House 16-1 (ridden by Graham Lee)
2. Clan Royal 10-1 co-favourite (Liam Cooper)
3. Lord Atterbury 40-1 (Mark Bradburne)
4. Monty's Pass 20-1 (Barry Geraghty)

Distances: Three lengths, two lengths
Winner owned by Halewood International, trained in England by Ginger McCain.
Value to winning owner: 348,000 pounds ($642,900)
