The 43-year-old Montgomerie is in his eighth tournament and is the most experienced member of the European team. He has picked up a relatively modest 1 ½ points from his three matches so far but will be a strong favourite to overcome David Toms when the action gets under way at 12:15 CET (11:15 BST).
However, the Scot insisted that despite their commanding 10-6 lead, the Europeans were taking nothing for granted.
"There is not one iota of complacency here," he said. "We want to go out and win the singles to win all five sessions for the first time in Ryder Cup history."
The USA's last Ryder Cup win came in 199 at Brookline, when they also went into the final day singles 10-6 down put pulled off a remarkable comeback.
Although his team have outperformed the visitors throughout this year's event, European captain Ian Woosnam was also quick to counsel caution.
"The Americans have always been strong in singles," said Woosnam. "We came here as a team, we are still playing as a team and that's how we intend to play tomorrow.
USA captain Tom Lehman has declined to put his biggest names in the early matches, in spite of the obvious need to apply pressure early.
Toms is followed out by Stewart Cink, while leading players Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Chris Di Marco go out fourth, tenth and 11th respectively.
"It's imperative we get off to a quick start like we did in '99," said Woods, who would normally be expected to defeat Robert Karlsson comfortably but has struggled throughout the weekend.
His two points out of a possible four owe much to playing partner Jim Furyk, who takes on the in-form Englishman Paul Casey, who secured victory in yesterday's foursomes with a hole-in-one.
