DA COSTA CLINCHES MAIDEN WIN FOR NEW TEAM
Antonio Felix da Costa claimed a first victory for his new team Jaguar TCS Racing and overcame late mechanical problems to take victory in the second race of the double header in Jeddah.
The Portuguese driver pulled out a winning gap with his first attack mode and then held onto his advantage in the latter stages.
However, it was not without drama as Da Costa said his Jaguar was flashing warning messages but he nursed the car home.
During a close race Sebastian Buemi (Envision Racing) used vital power to stay out of trouble in the early stages and struggled to match the pace of Da Costa as he came home second.
Meanwhile, Oliver Rowland (Nissan) turned a disastrous 17th place the previous day into a podium finish with a considered drive.
After qualifying quickest for both races in Jeddah and finishing second in the first race, Edoardo Mortara (Mahindra Racing), placed fourth in a close finish.
Former world champion Jake Dennis (Andretti) was also handily placed for a podium battle, before a puncture ended his hopes.
Meanwhile, the previous day’s winner Pascal Wehrlein (Porsche) had a disappointing drive after qualifying 11th and finished in eighth.
Wehrlein saw his lead in the drivers’ standings cut to six points, following a successful weekend for Mortara.
The Formula-E championship continues with round six in Madrid on March 21.

ROWLAND: ‘WE MADE A LOT OF CHANGES’
Oliver Rowland said his Nissan team made a ‘lot of changes’ to his car as he improved from 17th the previous day to place third in Jeddah.
He said: "Yesterday, I was pulling my hair out.
"The last two races I've struggled quite a lot on one lap, I just had no pace.
"Last night, we changed quite a lot of stuff. I’m really pleased to be back on the podium. I think thanks to my whole team, because they stayed late last night and they did a great job."

BUEMI: ‘LED THE RACE TO AVOID CARNAGE
Sebastian Buemi said that he decided to lead the race early on to avoid the battle for placings and used some extra energy.
The Swiss driver was pleased with his second position after placing seventh the previous day.
He said: "I knew he (Da Costa) had more energy than me.
"I decided to lead the race just to avoid a little bit of the carnage, and avoid the puncture or avoid damaging the wing,
"If you fight for P3 or P4, it's a jungle out there. At the front you do save a bit less energy. It's P2. Da Costa did a better job, but we'll take those points.
"Yesterday, we qualified last. Today, to be on the podium is not bad."

DA COSTA: ‘ALARMS FLASHING AT END’
Antonio Felix da Costa said that choosing the right time to make his attack mode was crucial. Even though he had some scares in the final laps. It’s a first win for Da Costa with Jaguar TCS Racing in his fifth race for the team.
"There was a lot of management going on there," said Da Costa. "The battery energy obviously. That was the main focus for us today. I was always able to place my car in the right place in the beginning and to be very efficient.
"We played that strategy, and choosing the right times for attack modes was crucial. We did just that, and then we were able to manage. Changing teams, it's a massive workload and a lot of things to learn."
Talking about a worrying end to the race. He added: "The end there was a bit critical.
"We had some alarms popping up. I think, battery temp. I couldn't go as fast as I wanted, but I was managing the gap.
"All these alarms flashing on my dash, so I kept asking, ‘Do I need to manage something? Do I need to go slower?’ It was a little bit stressful, but we were alright."
