EVANS TIMES ATTACK PERFECTLY TO WIN BERLIN EPRIX
Mitch Evans took his second win of the season after moving through the field from 17th on the grid to win the Berlin ePrix.
The 16-time race winner announced that he would be leaving Jaguar TCS Racing at the end of the season.
The Jaguar team supplied him with the perfect tactic after using old tyres in qualifying to leave him with a fresh pair for the race.
With a six-minute use of attack mode, Evans moved from the back to the front and fended off his rivals in the latter stages.
Defending world champion Oliver Rowland (Nissan Formula E Team) also used old tyres in qualifying to start in 18th.
The British driver moved through the pack but used more energy than Evans in doing so.
Rowland was unable to use the final moments of his attack mode and controversially overtook Pascal Wehrlein (Porsche Formula E Team) under a yellow flag late in the race.
Evans had enough energy to fend off his rivals during the final lap, with Rowland taking second and Wehrlein third.
After picking up three points for quickest qualifier, Wehrlein leads the overall standings, just three points ahead of Evans.
Formula E continues with rounds nine and 10 in Monaco on May 16 and 17.

WEHRLEIN: ‘FIRST CAR WITH USED TYRES’
Pascal Wehrlein was happy with his third position after Mitch Evans and Oliver Rowland saved their new tyres for the race and squandered qualifying.
He also debated the controversial overtake of Rowland late in the race on him under a yellow flag.
”We were first place in qualifying. I don't know yet about the result in the race, if it's third or second, but that's not up to us.
”That decision, that is pretty clear. It was a good day again, a good race, good pace.
”I think both Mitch (Evans) and Ollie (Rowland) had fresh tyres for the race, so they didn't really do qualifying, which is an advantage.
”I was basically the first car with used tires. So, we can be happy with that.”

ROWLAND: ‘SMALL ISSUES’ COST WIN
Defending world champion Oliver Rowland said that a ‘couple of small issues’ in his final attack mode cost him a chance of victory, after placing second in Berlin.
He said: ”We took the bold decision not to use new tyres in qualifying because we felt like the four tyres could be an advantage, and also being at the back and saving a lot of energy.
”The tricky point was when to go. And I think we managed to save a lot of energy in the beginning.
”We went to the front, both me and Norman (Nato), we managed to pick our way to the front.
”I had a couple of small issues at the end with the last attack mode, probably stopped me from winning. I have to be really happy with the weekend with second or third.”

EVANS: ‘ONE BIG ATTACK PAID OFF’
Mitch Evans said that one big attack using six minutes of attack boost helped him to move from the back into the lead.
The Jaguar driver also used old tyres during qualifying to save a fresh pair for the race.
”The strategy for me starting towards the back, we took a punt with the tyres, not doing qualifying or using a used set, it helped a bit.
”Just being patient, to be honest, in the race, just letting it come to me. I saw a couple of guys around me, like Oliver (Rowland).
”They went a little bit earlier, but I had guidance from the team, just to stay patient and just have a one big attack at the end which paid off. Full credit to the team for getting me through that one.”
