Verstappen being investigated over impeding

Max Verstappen has been called to see the Formula 1 stewards at the Hungarian Grand Prix over allegedly impeding Romain Grosjean in qualifying.

The incident happened towards the end of the wet Q3 at the Hungaroring.

Red Bull warned Verstappen warned about the approach of the Haas driver, but Grosjean declared "fuck, fuck, fuck - the Red Bull completely fucked me" over team radio.

The FIA noted an "alleged breach of article 31.5 of the FIA Formula 1 sporting regulations, by car #33 [Verstappen] on car #8 [Grosjean] at 15:59 in Turn 14, unnecessarily impeding another driver."

An impeding offence typically earns a drop of three grid positions.

Verstappen only qualified seventh on a disappointing day for Red Bull.

Grosjean is currently set to start 10th.
