Racing Point fined, docked 15 points after Renault protest

Racing Point have been fined 400,000 euros and stripped of 15 points in the constructors' championship on Friday after Formula One's governing body upheld a Renault protest about the legality of their rival's car.
Renault had protested at the last three races, arguing that the brake ducts used by Racing Point were a copy of those on the 2019 title-winning Mercedes.
The governing body FIA said in a statement it had upheld the complaints.
They emphasised that the punishment was against the team, rather than its drivers using the car, explaining: "[The] infringement has to do with a very unique situation revolving around the design process of the car."
The news followed Racing Point's earlier revelation that driver Sergio Perez was still testing positive for Covid-19 and would continue to be replaced by Nico Hulkenberg for the forthcoming race weekend.
