They do indeed have a last chance - apologies for the lack of detail, all the feeds to the circuit disappeared briefly.

The red flags are out. He went over the bumps and slid sideways, catching the tyre wall with the rear - and it basically disintegrated!

It still amazes me how they host an F1 race around these streets. Madness. But so much fun. They open the streets at night to traffic...

Button sneaks inside the 1:15 mark to go P2. Hamilton stays fourth and Massa fifth as they set times.

Alonso goes top with a very quick 1:14.433. Petrov with a moment, but just avoids the barriers.

Hamilton back out for a last run. Jaime Alguersuari's car has a problem, probably on the rear right.

Webber locks up after the tunnel - the point where the German's crash started - and cannot improve his time.

Over 50 gear changes a lap in this race, very physically demanding - and also mentally, with no time to settle on a straight. Hamilton goes second, 0.270s off the pace.
