It puts a sad end to what had been a fantastic day for the German in Budapest. Vettel raced superbly to secure a second-place finish in a chaotic Hungarian Grand Prix which had begun with Valtteri Bottas causing the early retirement of multiple cars.

Aston Martin have announced their intention to appeal Sebastian Vettel's disqualification from the Hungarian Grand Prix.
Officials were unable to take the required fuel sample from the Aston Martin driver’s car following the race.
Formula One regulations dictate that a one-litre fuel sample must be able to be taken from the car following a race, but only 0.3 litres could be taken from the German’s tank after he pushed hard for a podium position.
It was thought that Vettel would lose his second-place finish - but the final race results say that he keeps it until the appeal is over.
"The classification is provisional, subject to the outcome of the notice of appeal lodged by Aston Martin Cognizant F1 Team against stewards' decision 59," read a statement.
If Vettel's disqualification is confirmed, all the other drivers on the grid are moved up a place in the results, with Lewis Hamilton moving up to second position and Carlos Sainz of Ferrari finalising the podium places.
A statement from the Aston Martin team earlier on Sunday had indicated that they accepted the decision, saying: “The 18 points loss is disappointing for the team, but it doesn't take away from an otherwise flawless drive from Sebastian.
“Today we showed that our car has strong race pace. Onwards and upwards.”
Hamilton’s Mercedes team-mate Valtteri Bottas careened into Lando Norris, ultimately retiring both from the race alongside three other drivers after just one lap.
