A special lap from Vettel ensures the German records the fastest lap of FP3, having topped FP2 as well. He is the only man to go under 1:30. Rosberg in second with Webber third.

Vettel scorches round in 1:29.517 to become the first man to go under 1:30. Very impressive as he takes first place from Rosberg.

Vettel is turning up the pace and after two sectors is 0.479 under Rosberg’s time. ..

Here is Lewis Hamilton and after two sectors he is 0.328 behind the pace. The Mercedes driver then suffers from oversteer to go nine tenths slower than Rosberg.

Vettel sneaks out at the end to try and take first place in front of his home supporters.
5'
Webber is on a fast lap but the Australian finishes messily to go round in 1:30.211. Only good enough for second.
6'
Hulkenberg takes fifth place for Sauber as the soft tyres come to bear. Button is now on track for McLaren.

Di Resta runs a bit wide to slow him up on a flying lap and then he runs into traffic. A 1:31.849 isn’t great shakes.

And now Rosberg takes first place away from Alonso as he also benefits from the soft compound to record a 1:30.193.

Alonso, on the soft compound, races through in a 1:30.621 to take first spot from Vettel.

Alonso goes quickest in the first sector, and the second…

Just a reminder that Pirelli and the FIA have set tyre pressures to avoid failures seen at Silverstone. No signs of a repeat here.
14'
Gutierrez locks up his front left in the Sauber, and he isn’t the first driver to suffer that kind of problem today.
15'
The two Red Bulls lead at present, with Rosberg next for Mercedes. Gorsjean’s Lotus is fourth with Hamilton fifth and Alonso in sixth. Raikkonen and Massa make up a four-team top eight.
16'
Vettel is two tenths down on his fastest time after the first sector at the Nurburgring.
17'
We are riding with Webber but he is a couple of tenths short of his best time and doesn’t trouble team-mate Vettel.
18'
Mercedes are still working on Hamilton and Rosberg’s cars with both vehicles up on jacks and tireless. Some work to do in the Mercedes garage.
19'
Teams now trying to get their cars in the best possible shape for qualifying, which starts at 1pm. There could well be a wide range of strategies on show.
20'
Not much change in the top 10 in the past few minutes with the two Red Bulls looking unassailable at the top.
