It was an impressive team performance from the hosts, with the result never in doubt.
It leaves Germany still at the top of Group C, now with a stunning goal difference of +26.
Mesut Ozil opened the scoring after ten minutes before Julian Draxler added a second on 17 minutes.
Werner scored his first four minutes later, and his second shortly before half-time.
Leon Goretzka came on as a substitute for the second half, and took just five minutes to get on to the scoresheet, and another replacement, Mario Gomez, got the final goal 11 minutes from time.

TALKING POINT

How wrong did Norway get their tactics? The pundits were scornful of the way the visitors approached the game, standing off Germany and rarely putting in a challenge - were they too negative, consigning themselves to a heavy defeat before kick-off?

MAN OF THE MATCH

Joshua Kimmich (Germany) - Gets it for his consistent effort, but any number of players would have been worthy of it.

KEY MOMENTS

10' GOAL! Ah, what a gorgeous goal from Mesut Ozil. He has been good in these opening exchanges, and he starts this move off. Great pass played back to Ozil in space on the edge of the box, and it's a terrific finish.
17' GOAL! There's the second from a Germany side who look like they're really up to this. Draxler turns beautifully as Ozil touches the ball back to him, and he slides the ball past the goalkeeper.
21' GOAL! Oh, there's another one, given away in the middle of the park by Skjelvik, and Timo Werner makes a good run on to a Muller flick, striking it home.
40' GOAL! And Germany go up the other end on the counter, and Ozil sends it wide to Werner, who plays it out to Muller. Werner makes a run into the box, and heads the cross home. Beautifully worked.
50' GOAL! A header from substitute Goretzka from a terrific cross from Draxler, who turns lithely to get the ball in.
79' GOAL! And there's the sixth after that embroidery of lovely passes, Kimmich feeding Gomez, and a diving header makes the net bulge.

KEY STATISTICS
