Aggie Beever-Jones was "delighted" after scoring a hat-trick in England's 6-0 victory over Portugal in the UEFA Women's Nations League. The Chelsea forward opened the scoring inside three minutes and secured the match ball just half an hour later. There is significant competition in England's attacking areas, but the 21-year-old hopes to have given manager Sarina Wiegman a "headache".

Aggie Beever-Jones said she hopes to be "giving the right people headaches" after scoring a first-half hat-trick in England’s 6-0 thumping of Portugal at Wembley in the UEFA Women’s Nations League. Â
The Chelsea forward opened the scoring after just three minutes and completed her treble by the 33rd minute as the Lionesses went 5-0 up before the break.Â
Lucy Bronze and Beth Mead also struck in the opening period before Chloe Kelly added a sixth from the bench 17 minutes into the second half.Â
Following the disruption around Mary Earps’ retirement announcement this week and with England’s European title defence starting in just five weeks, the emphatic victory at Wembley on Friday was a timely one.Â
However, it underlined the selection issues Sarina Wiegman faces, particularly in the attacking areas, and Beever-Jones’ hat-trick heroics will have certainly added another dimension to her manager’s decision-making.Â
Speaking after full-time at Wembley, the 21-year-old forward said: "I got told I was starting and I wanted to help the team as much as I can. I'm delighted right now. I can't quite believe it.

"I'm just focusing on the current, and I believe everything will fall into place. As long as I'm giving the right people headaches, making Sarina happy, then so be it.
"It was a good team performance. We were really clinical in the first half, and if I'm honest, the standard dropped in the second, and we're looking to improve that."
Beever-Jones opened the scoring with a clinical finish into the bottom corner before Bronze added England’s second just two minutes later, heading into an empty net.Â
The two Chelsea team-mates were involved in England’s third as Beever-Jones headed home from the full-back’s superb first-time cross.Â
Mead tucked home from close range to make it four before Beever-Jones sealed her hat-trick on her first Wembley start with another low finish from inside the box to make it 5-0 before the interval.Â
England looked set for another fruitful half after the break when substitute Kelly nodded home from close range in the 62nd minute, but it was to stay at six for the Lionesses as Wiegman took the opportunity to rotate.Â

Despite Beever-Jones’ impressive display, a starting position in the summer is no guarantee, with Kelly and Mead also getting on the scoresheet, while Alessia Russo was rested on her return from injury, and Lauren James is also set to return from a period on the sidelines.Â
When asked how many forwards she could take to the Euros in the summer, Wiegman said: "I could do 10! But I don't think your squad is very balanced.Â

"You want options in every position, and every position you want an extra player, some can play in two different positions, which helps.
"We have so many options up front in the squad right now. We hope for Lauren James coming back too, her rehab is doing good. I hope every striker will be fit, James added to that. That can be really hard for the squad."
The victory left England two points behind Spain, but three points against the leaders in Tuesday's final group game in Barcelona will send them into the semi-finals.
Wiegman’s side will then have a friendly against Jamaica at the end of the month before starting their Euro 2025 campaign against France on 5 July.
