TOTTENHAM PAY THE PENALTY AS PSG BITE BACK TO SNATCH SUPER CUP VICTORY
Paris Saint-Germain recovered from 2-0 down before edging out Tottenham on penalties in a thrilling Super Cup showpiece.
Goals from Micky van de Ven and new Spurs captain Cristian Romero put Thomas Frank's side in control in Udine, though late strikes from Lee Kang-In and Goncalo Ramos forced a shootout.
Despite Vitinha's early miss, Van de Ven and Mathys Tel were unsuccessful for Spurs, before Nuno Mendes sealed a 4-3 victory for Luis Enrique's men.
Richarlison tested new PSG goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier midway through the first half, during which the Champions League winners failed to register a shot on target.
Tottenham took advantage to strike first in the 39th minute, with Van de Ven slotting into an empty net after Chevalier tipped Joao Palhinha's initial volley onto the crossbar.
Mohammed Kudus headed against the post just before half-time. Although, Spurs did double their lead within three minutes of the restart, Chevalier only able to help Romero's tame header into the net.
Substitute Lee drilled home from 20 yards to give PSG hope five minutes from time, before Ramos' 94th-minute header took the contest to penalties.
Despite a slow start, Luis Enrique's side eventually held their nerve to add more silverware to their ever-growing collection.

PSG PREVAIL ON PENALTIES
Champions League winners on May 31, PSG were looking to become the first French winners of the Super Cup.
It looked like the opportunity had passed when they trailed 2-0 after 84 minutes in Udine.
However, Lee Kang-In's 20-yard drive gave them hope, before Goncalo Ramos' stoppage-time header forced a penalty shootout.
Despite Vitinha's early miss, Lucas Chevalier denied Micky van de Ven to level things out. Mathys Tel's miss then proved crucial, with Nuno Mendes subsequently rifling home the decisive kick.
