Marcus Rashford is not sure of staying at Barcelona even if Robert Lewandowski leaves, while a move for Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers could net Middlesbrough a huge transfer kitty boost in the summer. Elsewhere, Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes could have his contract extended at Old Trafford amid speculation he will leave, and Tottenham Hotspur could give Roberto De Zerbi more support.

Barca move for Bastoni could cost Rashford his place
The Manchester Evening News reports that Internazionale’s Alessandro Bastoni could move to Barcelona, putting Marcus Rashford’s move to the Catalan side in doubt.
However, the potential exit of Robert Lewandowski to AC Milan or Juventus may open up the chance for the England international to stay after he reduced his wage demands.
The paper explains: ”Barcelona are nearing an agreement to sign Alessandro Bastoni from Inter Milan, beating Liverpool to the player, in a deal that could impact Marcus Rashford's future at the club. The Catalan club and Bastoni's representatives are said to be moving in the same direction, with it only a 'matter of time' before all parties are aligned.
”It is claimed that Barca's return to Camp Nou will see the club satisfy La Liga's Financial Fair Play rules, but a high-earning player could yet depart to facilitate Barcelona landing their primary targets of Bastoni and a new forward, namely Julian Alvarez.
”This is where Rashford's position at the club has proven vulnerable. It has previously been reported that the forward's salary has proven problematic, despite the loan star being willing to reduce his salary by almost half, and that has paused progress over a deal.
”Barca are keen to retain experience to benefit a young crop of players, which had played into Rashford's favour. A bid to keep 37-year-old veteran striker Robert Lewandowski at the club, at a reduced salary, appeared to place Rashford's future into more doubt.
”But now Lewandowski has been touted as that player, according to reports in Italy, with AC Milan and Juventus being named as possible destinations for the Polish striker.”
Boro set for huge Rogers payday
Aston Villa forward Morgan Rogers could attract bids of £100 million from Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal.
With Middlesbrough poised to enjoy a 20% sell-on bonus should he be sold, they could be in line for a transfer boost of their own.
The Mirror writes: ”Morgan Rogers is the subject of £100 million interest from a number of clubs and a possible Aston Villa exit could land Middlesbrough a world-record sell-on fee.
”The England ace has continued to go from strength to strength at Villa Park. He's been a shining light under Unai Emery with the club eyeing up a return to the Champions League. That would ease the financial strain, but Villa could still face a battle to keep their playmaker.
”PSG are among those eyeing Rogers, as are Manchester United and Arsenal, with a fee in the region of £100m being discussed. That would equal the sum Villa landed when they sold Jack Grealish to Manchester City.
”If that were to happen then Middlesbrough, who are trying to achieve promotion from the Championship, could be in for a huge pay day. The 23-year-old has enjoyed an incredible rise since Boro snapped him up for just £1.5m in 2023 from Manchester City.
”He was only on Teesside for a few months before Villa paid Boro £16m, but that move was understood to include a 20 per cent sell-on clause.”
United may extend Fernandes deal
Bruno Fernandes has been linked with a big-money move to a Saudi Pro League side, but the Mail explains that is far from certain.
That is in part because United have the option to extend the 31-year-old midfielder’s contract beyond next season, for an additional 12 months.
The paper reports: ”Fernandes, 31, has been a talismanic figure for the Red Devils since arriving from Sporting Lisbon in 2020.
”He has continued to lead the way this season, with the Portuguese midfielder scoring eight goals and adding 16 assists in what has been an incredible individual campaign as United battle to qualify for the Champions League.
”It comes after Fernandes almost departed last summer before he ultimately rejected a move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal that would have been worth around £1 million-a-week in wages on top of a £100m transfer fee.
”The 31-year-old's future remains a hot topic with just a year left on his contract, although United do have the option to extend that by a further 12 months.”
De Zerbi could add more staff at Spurs
Roberto De Zerbi has brought just two of his usual setup to Tottenham Hotspur but, if things go well, that could change.
The Telegraph believes that Marco Marcattilii and Marcello Quinto are just the early arrivals for his coaching setup.
The paper notes: ”At Brighton he arrived as Graham Potter’s successor with seven staff. Even though Potter had departed for Chelsea with the intention of taking many of his coaching associates with him, this was far from ideal at the time for Brighton. They operate a permanent first-team staff. De Zerbi even arrived with a recruitment consultant, Salvatore Monaco, although he did not stay at the club for long.
”At Spurs, he has come with just two of his core staff, Marco Marcattilii and Marcello Quinto. The suggestion in his first press conference on Friday was that he did not want to overwhelm his players immediately with too many instructions and too many new faces at such a delicate juncture. One expects that the rest may join him in due course.”
