Luis Diaz completes £65m transfer from Liverpool to Bayern Munich, vows to help new team with 'my way of playing football and my character'

German champions Bayern Munich have sealed the signing of Liverpool forward Luis Diaz. The Colombian spent three-and-a-half seasons at Anfield, winning the Premier League, FA Cup and two League Cups after his move from FC Porto in January 2022. Diaz was also a part of the side that reached the 2022 UEFA Champions League final. He scored 41 goals in 148 total appearances for Liverpool.

Luis Diaz has completed his move from Liverpool to Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.
Diaz scored 41 goals in 148 appearances in his three and a half seasons at Anfield, winning the Premier League, the FA Cup and two League Cups.
TNT Sports understands the total fee for the Colombian is worth €75 million (£64.9m).
"I'm very happy, it means a lot to me to be part of FC Bayern - they're one of the biggest clubs in the world," Diaz said. "I want to help my new team with my way of playing football and my character. My goal is to win every possible title, and that's what we'll work for every day as a team."
The move ends a three-and-a-half-year association with The Reds since his arrival from FC Porto in January 2022.
The 28-year-old, who will wear the No. 14 shirt, heads to Bayern on the back of the most prolific goalscoring season of his career, netting 17 times in 2024/25.
Talk of the Colombian's exit was fuelled when Diaz was omitted from Liverpool's squad in Saturday's 4-2 pre-season friendly defeat to AC Milan in Hong Kong.
The Reds will head into the new campaign with a revamped forward line following Diaz's departure and the additions of Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike.
Diaz, meanwhile, joins a Bayern team that reclaimed the Bundesliga title last season after finishing 13 points clear of Bayer Leverkusen.
However, their performances in the cup competitions were less convincing, knocked out of the German Cup and Champions League in the last 16 and quarter-finals respectively.
Bayern begin their Bundesliga title defence against RB Leipzig at the Allianz Arena on Friday, August 22.
