Liverpool plan Guehi swoop

Liverpool hope to complete the signing of Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace, with recent sales helping to balance the books.
The Mirror adds that they are targeting the defender as it appears Ibrahima Konate could entertain leaving on a free transfer next year.
The paper states: "The signing of Guehi would push Liverpool's total summer outlay, including money specified for add-ons, towards the £250 million mark, but with gaps in the squad needing to be filled and money from significant outgoings either already made or on the way, it is no surprise to see the champions acting so decisively.
"Jarell Quansah is slated to have his medical with Bayer Leverkusen after England's Under-21 European Championship final against Germany, with reports in Europe claiming it will take place on Monday and The Reds will bank around £35m for the sale - a 'pure profit' sale in PSR terms, as were [Trent] Alexander-Arnold and [Caoimhin] Kelleher.
"Ibrahima Konate, meanwhile, has just one year left on his Reds deal and is giving off serious 'Alexander-Arnold vibes' as Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid circle."

Brentford hold out for Mbeumo fee

Brentford are not compromising over their demands for forward Bryan Mbeumo as talks continue with Manchester United.
United’s latest offer of an initial £55 million has been rejected, though the gap could yet be bridged to Brentford’s £65m valuation.
The Sun claims: "Brentford are demanding Manchester United cough up £65 million for Bryan Mbeumo.
"The Red Devils saw their second bid of £55m before add-ons of £7.5m knocked back on Friday, but remain confident of striking a deal.
"United had already seen an opening bid of £45m rejected.
"Brentford are now holding out for a total package of £65m, meaning there is only a small gap in valuations at this point."

Williams makes Barca demand

Nico Williams will only agree to join Barcelona from Athletic Club if the Liga champions can register him for next season as soon as he joins.
Barcelona have had financial difficulties which affected their ability to register players, such as Dani Olmo, and Williams does not want to fall victim to that, according to reports in Spain.
The Mail explains: "Nico Williams has made a demand at the 11th hour ahead of his proposed move to Barcelona after indicating his desire to leave Athletic Club.
"Williams, 22, has pushed for a move away from Bilbao this summer with Bayern Munich and Arsenal also reported to have been interested in signing the winger.
"Earlier in June, Mail Sport understood that both Barcelona and Bayern had held talks with the Spanish international only for him to opt for the Blaugrana earlier this week.
"However, Hansi Flick's side will have to sell players later on in the window to make Williams' move viable.
"But he has demanded that he be registered to their 2025/26 playing squad upon signing to ensure that his move goes through without any hitches, per Marca."

Chelsea and Newcastle battle for Joao Pedro

The Athletic believes that Chelsea and Newcastle United will have to fight it out to sign Brighton & Hove Albion forward Joao Pedro.
While the Londoners have already snapped up Liam Delap, Newcastle are yet to make their first signing this summer.
The website writes: "Chelsea and Newcastle United are in competition to sign Brighton & Hove Albion forward Joao Pedro.
"Brighton have not accepted any bid for the 23-year-old Brazil international, with Chelsea and Newcastle both in talks with the south coast club over a move.
"Chelsea’s priority in the market is a versatile attacker, a profile which Joao Pedro would fit, as well as a right-footed left winger. Chelsea are in talks with Borussia Dortmund over a move for Jamie Gittens.
"Newcastle United, who like Chelsea will compete in the coming season’s Champions League, have yet to make a first-team signing this summer."
