Bayern have 'advantage' over Reds in Guehi chase
Bayern Munich have an "advantage" over Liverpool as they attempt to sign Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, claims the Mirror.
The Eagles have confirmed that Guehi will leave Crystal Palace next summer, with his contract expiring in 2026.
Liverpool went close to signing him on deadline day only for the deal to collapse, and Bayern may now be favourites to capture his signature thanks to the Bosman ruling.
The outlet states: "Bayern Munich are going full steam ahead with their attempts to sign Marc Guehi – and the German giants have one advantage over Liverpool.
"Arne Slot wants Guehi to add depth to his central defensive options, with the injury to Giovanni Leoni leaving him short. However, Slot has hinted that Liverpool won’t rush to try and land Guehi in January – and that could leave them at risk of losing him to Bayern.
"Like many of Europe’s top sides, Bayern are interested in signing Guehi, who could be tempted to follow in the footsteps of his England team-mate Harry Kane by moving to Bavaria. Bayern know they could lose Dayot Upamecano at the end of the season, with the defender’s contract set to expire, and they are honing in on Guehi.
"Bild reports that sporting director Christoph Freund has spoken to Palace manager Oliver Glasner about Guehi. Bayern don’t see Guehi as being connected to the potential exit of Upamecano, and, like Liverpool, see him as an opportunity too good to turn down.
"Crucially, Bayern will be able to speak to Guehi about a potential summer free transfer on January 1 via the Bosman ruling."

Napoli set to make Mainoo move in January
Napoli are preparing to make a move for Manchester United's Kobbie Mainoo in January.
The midfielder has struggled to establish himself in The Red Devils' midfield so far this season, and is said to be growing frustrated with the situation.
But Ruben Amorim may not be ready to allow Mainoo to leave.
The Sun writes: "Napoli are monitoring his situation and are set to make a bid in January, report Gazzetta dello Sport.
"The Italian side are set to lose key midfielder Frank Anguissa for several weeks when he plays for Cameroon at the Africa Cup of Nations.
"They view Mainoo as a suitable replacement, having previously tried to sign him in the summer as part of the deal which brought Rasmus Hojlund to the club.
"However, they may again be unable to snap him up with United prepared to block approaches for even more fringe players.
"Afcon means The Red Devils will also be without Bryan Mbeumo, Amad Diallo and Noussair Mazraoui.
"So Mainoo could be denied a move, having previously seen a request to leave the club on loan last summer turned down."

Lyon in pole position to loan Endrick
Lyon believe they have the strongest case to take in demand Real Madrid star Endrick on loan.
West Ham have been linked with the 19-year-old, who has yet to make an appearance for Los Blancos this campaign.
The Mail states: "French side Lyon are offering a six-month loan with partial salary coverage for the Brazil international who is keen to gain playing time in the hope of cementing a place in Carlo Ancelotti's World Cup squad.
"A number of English and other European sides, including the likes of West Ham, are interested in the 19-year-old but Lyon believe they are his preferred choice as it stands. They have still to convince Real Madrid of the financial package however.
"Lyon are challenging for the French league title, just two points behind leaders Paris Saint-Germain, are contesting for the Europa League and are coached by Portuguese Paulo Fonseca. All of which appeals to Endrick as he weighs up the best place to play on a consistent basis for the second half of the season."
