Aston Villa join Man Utd in race for Endrick
Aston Villa, Manchester United, West Ham United and Juventus are all interested in signing Endrick on loan this winter.
The teenage striker wants to leave Real Madrid this January in order to get minutes on the pitch ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
The Daily Star explains: "Aston Villa have joined Manchester United in the scrap to sign Real Madrid outcast Endrick.
"Brazilian sensation Endrick has found himself frozen out at the Spanish giants.
"The situation has alerted a number of clubs, including United, West Ham and Juventus. And now Villa have expressed an interest in taking Endrick on loan in the January transfer window.
"Endrick has told his representatives he will have to leave the Bernabeu - unless there is a dramatic change in his situation.
"United have been keeping tabs on the stand off, and could also be willing to sign the teenager on a six month loan deal at the start of 2026."
Liverpool may miss out on GuehiÂ
The Evening Standard reports that Real Madrid and Barcelona could step up to battle Liverpool for Marc Guehi.
The central defender is out of contract next summer, and foreign teams can agree a pre-contract with the England man in January. Liverpool will instead wait until the summer to make their move.
The paper writes: "Liverpool had submitted a deal sheet for the Eagles captain to ensure a move was finalised even after the summer transfer window had officially closed.
"However, Palace pulled the plug on negotiations at the last minute as they could not find a suitable replacement for the 25-year-old, meaning they risk losing the England international for free.
"Amid suggestions Liverpool will revisit their interest in Guehi in January, it is understood that they will instead wait until the defender is available on a free transfer next summer.
"There have been plenty of reports suggesting La Liga giants Real Madrid and Barcelona have entered the race to sign Guehi, potentially testing Palace’s resolve with a cut-price January bid."
De Zerbi approached over Man Utd job
The Mirror reports that Manchester United approached Roberto De Zerbi to replace Erik ten Hag.
Thomas Tuchel was also contacted, but neither manager took United up on the offer, and Ruben Amorim was later appointed.
The paper states: "Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim wasn't the only contender to replace Erik ten Hag in 2024. United also explored moves for Thomas Tuchel and Roberto De Zerbi several months before landing the Portuguese.
"By the time Ten Hag eventually lost his job in October last year, De Zerbi and Tuchel had already found employment elsewhere. Former Brighton boss De Zerbi took over at Marseille shortly after leaving the Amex Stadium, while Tuchel agreed terms with England in the autumn and ultimately took charge in January 2025.
"United were still considering Tuchel a fortnight after their cup final win. The German met with United chiefs in Monaco but didn't reach an agreement and indeed is said to have not been prepared to return to football so soon after leaving Bayern Munich.
"De Zerbi's talks, meanwhile, were reportedly halted after the Italian rejected an initial offer from United. An improved offer didn't arrive, and the 46-year-old is now in charge at Marseille."
Chelsea add new recruitment expert
Former Liverpool recruitment guru Dave Fallows has been added to Chelsea’s staff as the Londoners look to refine their transfer activity.
The Telegraph believes that he will be given responsibility for scouting at the club, who are one of the most active sides in the transfer market.
The paper reports: "Fallows joins Paul Winstanley, Laurence Stewart, Joe Shields and Sam Jewell among the sporting directors at a club that has become one of the most active traders in the Premier League. The appointment was recommended by Winstanley and Stewart, into whom the rest report, and approved by the ownership of Chelsea - Behdad Eghbali and Todd Boehly.
"All five sporting directors are understood to be under contract until 2031 which the club hopes will bring stability to its senior leadership.
"Fallows was in charge of scouting at Liverpool in an era when the club successfully blended data analytics with a more conventional recruitment approach to build a great side at a lower cost than rivals. At Chelsea he will be focussed on football development, including scouting and data."
