Villa face Rashford competition

Aston Villa will face strong competition from Paris Saint-Germain in their pursuit of Marcus Rashford this summer, according to The Sun.
Rashford has recaptured his form at Villa Park having netted three times and registered four assists in 13 games, earning a recall to the England squad.
It is therefore no surprise that Unai Emery reportedly wants to make the deal permanent – but Villa’s UEFA Champions League quarter-final opponents Paris Saint-Germain are also said to be keen on the 27-year-old.
"Aston Villa are set to go head to head with Paris Saint-Germain this summer in a battle for Marcus Rashford," reads the article.
"Sun Sport can reveal the Premier League side want to make the current loan arrangement they have with the England star a permanent switch.
"Manager Unai Emery has told Villa chiefs he’s confident the Manchester United forward’s head is in the right place and that signing him would help take the club to the next level.
"The big issue will be Rashford’s salary but Villa hope he could be persuaded to take a drop in his wages in order to secure a move that will help resurrect his career with the club and England."
The report adds: "According to L'Equipe, the versatile forward came extremely close to a transfer to Paris in the summer of 2022.
"The same source reports talks have been revived between Rashford and Leonardo's replacement Luis Campos."

Man City want Udogie from Spurs

The Evening Standard reports that Manchester City are interested in signing Tottenham full-back Destiny Udogie.
The left-back is said to be "highly rated" by Pep Guardiola, despite enduring a tough season with Spurs.
"Tottenham could face a fight to keep Destiny Udogie after Manchester City identified the left-back as a summer transfer target," states the outlet.
"City will continue a major overhaul of their squad at the end of the season after spending £180 million on four players in January.
"Pep Guardiola has made it clear he wants to strengthen his defence and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano says City have added Udogie to their full-back shortlist.
"He has struggled for fitness and form during what has been a difficult campaign for Spurs under Ange Postecoglou, but the 22-year-old Italian is still highly-regarded by Guardiola.
"But getting Udogie out of Spurs could be tough, with Romano saying a deal is ‘not easy’.
"Udogie has five years left on his contract at Spurs after signing a new long-term deal in 2023."

Chelsea one of many suitors for Delap

Manchester United's interest in Liam Delap has been well documented, but the Ipswich Town striker is also attracting interest from Chelsea and clubs in Germany.
Delap will reportedly be available for £30 million should Ipswich be relegated from the Premier League, as reported in Thursday's Paper Round.
"Manchester United face stiff competition for Liam Delap as a host of clubs chase the England U21 striker for a knockdown £30 million in the event Ipswich Town are relegated," writes The Telegraph.
"Delap, 22, has emerged as a primary transfer target for United this summer as they bid to address their chronic shortage of goals.
"But a number of other Premier League clubs, notably Chelsea, also hold a strong interest in Delap as they weigh up their summer options. There is also interest from Germany, who have proven adept at recruiting emerging English talents in recent years, and Italy.
"Delap has a £40 million release clause in his contract, but this will drop to £30 million in the increasingly likely event Ipswich go down.
"With money likely to be tight at Old Trafford this summer – more so if United fail to qualify for the Champions League by winning the Europa League – the prospect of signing a player who fits with the profile of striker being targeted by Ruben Amorim and has Premier League experience for a relatively cheap fee is appealing for the club."
